Hard reset usually works temporarily. Unplug your set for four hours and then plug it back in. I have the same piece of **** tv, only I bought it used.

BASTARDS! THOSE SNAKE *** DIRTY BASTARDS!

THIS HAPPENS TO OFTEN PHILLIPS SHOULD BE SUED OR SOMETHING BECAUSE THEIR PRODUCTS ARE UNRELIABLE AND WHEN YOU REPORT THE ISSUE TO THEM THEY ARE OF LITTLE OR NO HELP, ONLY FURTHER FRUSTRATING THE SITUATION. I AM GOING TO FIND THEIR DATABASE AND DESTROY IT SO THEY WON'T BE ABLE TO RIP OFF ANOTHER PERSON. HOW THE F*** DOES A TV NOT WORK THE FIRST DAY ITS PURCHASED?! THAT'S BULL. I WILL PERSONALLY SEE TO IT THAT THEY REGRET THEY HAVE EVER MESSED WITH ME!!!!!!
SIKE NAW I ONLY BOUGHT MINE FOR $100 DOLLARS. SMALL LOSS, I'LL GET OVER IT, BUT STILL, PHILLIPS DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE IN BUSINESS WITH SUCH FAULTY PRODUCTS.

Hi Panix:
Sorry, but it sounds as if the power supply or high voltage circuit has failed. You will have to take it to a repair shop.

Hello I have a 55" phillips 55pp9363h/17.When I tried to turn my tv on it won't turn on and the TV is making a high pitch beeping sound what might I do to fix this.I was just watching the TV 20 min ago.It...

The high pitched sound means there is a short on the Deflection board which is the middle board. Most likely it is a shorted transistor or capacitor on that board. Not a do it yourself fix. Someone needs to get the chassis into the service position and check for shorted parts on that board.

Let me know if you have questions.

Won't start at all

It can be anything from a faulty power jack, to a fried motherboard. Take it back to best buy as soon as you can, and let them take a look. Nothing more you can really do.

TV wont turn on, makes buzzing noise and shuts off

I have two RCA HD52W59 TV's. I have had one for 3 years and one 4 years. The one I have had for 4 years is giving me the problem. Last week the tv turned off while watching it. It wouldnt come right back on. 10 minutes later we tried and it worked fine. the other night the kids were watching and it turned off and smelled like something burning. I tried turning it right back on and got no power at all. I tried to turn it on two days later and it made a buzzing noise and the green light went out. Never did get a picture, no powering up on the screen. Any ideas? Don't want to spend alot of money. Really loved the TV hope it isnt junk now. Better yet I hope the same thing doesnt happen to the other one I have.

Blinking light on 37" Dynex LCD

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Hope this helps

I unplugged it for 24 hours. When I plugged it back in it was ok. It has done it a couple of times since, but only for a few seconds.
