Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Zenith Television Whenever the TV is unplugged or the power goes out the TV takes away channels and the channels have to be reprogrammed. I can never figure out how to reprogram the channels so when I use the remote control I don't have to put the channels in manually. I can just use the channel up and down button. also the AUX channel goes away. how do I prevent this from happening?

Some of the older sets were just that way. It is best to have the cable plugged into the tuner before you plug the set back up. It should automatically find all available channels upon being plugged in and turned on... will help to know the model of the set.

I need to reprogram my zenith sy2568s tv to recieve available channels

With the remote control:
1. Press Menu repeatedly to view the Setup Menu. 2. Select Auto Program. 3. Use the Left/Right Arrows to advance to the next menu. 4. Select either OFF AIR ANTENNA or CABLE TV.* 5. Use the Left/Right Arrows to advance to begin the channel search.
*NOTE: THIS TELEVISION WAS MANUFACTURED IN 1996 AND HAS AN ANALOG TUNER ONLY AND WILL NOT RECEIVE OVER THE AIR SIGNALS AS ALL OVER THE AIR SIGNALS ARE DIGITAL NOW AS OF 2009. IN ORDER TO USE THIS TELEVISION SET FOR OVER THE AIR SIGNALS YOU WILL NEED A DIGITAL TO ANALOG CONVERTER BOX AVAILABLE FOR BETWEEN $30 AND $60. CHECK EBAY FOR GOOD DEALS ON THEM.

The Zenith Digital TV Converter DTT900 needs reprogramming

1) While pressing & holding down the TV POWER button, press CHANNEL UP or CHANNEL DOWN repeatedly until your TV is turned on or off. 2) Release the TV POWER button when your TV is turned on or off. *Each press of the channel button sends a manufacturer code (1-45) to your TV, one after the other. Note: You may have to do this every time you change or remove the battery, as the remote will reset itself to the default code.

automatic code search. this may take a while to do but it works. hold the directv button and tv power until the red light stays on. while its on press the channel up button (this will search for a code). release and test with the tv power button. if the tv does not turn off, press the channel up button again and test with the tv power. when the tv finally goes off, press the enter/last button (bottom right corner of the remote) to store the code

When I turn the tv power on the power button lights and then the temp and then the lamp light blink red and stay on. The tv screen stays black the entire time. Can you help me please. Thank you my tv...

This is a frustrating problem and is not uncomon. The problem is you will most likely have to have someone come out to complete internal repairs.

However, before you call someone out, try unplugging the television for an hour and plugging it back in. The tv is run by a mini computer. the computer sometimes goes into "safe mode" when the power fluctuates. This can be reset by unplugging from the wall for an hour. You will know your tv has reset when the tv has to reprogram the channels when you plug it back in.

If that does not work, try our premium service or go to our repair service button on FixYa.

TV forgets channels when unplugged

Has it always forgotten the channels when you unplug it or is this just a recent development? I know that on my old standard tube television or VCRs, the channel memory is always reset if they are unplugged - the same being true if the power goes out.
