Yes. You can get replacement bulbs and no , it's not difficult to get the case off. Most likely 4 screws on the sides and a couple on the bottom

I have an old Sansui 400 receiver. I get no sound from the left channel--both A and B speaker options. The speaker and wires are OK, because they work when hooked to the right channel contacts.

The problem seems to be the left transistor part of the unit. Try this:change A versus B speakers, asuming speaker A was working properly. If still speaker A, now connected to left output does not work, you will probably have transistor malfunction on the left channel of the receiver. Any electronic store will substitute the left transistors.
Good Luck.

Yamaha RX-730 Display Does not Light Up

The display is backlit with an incandescent bulb an easy fix. Two wires from power supply to a white plastic hollow reflector assy, similar to the back of an auto headlight assy. unplug at pwer supply and remove bulb from reflector insert new bulb and your done. Be careful not to damage pc board above reflector it's the controller for the LCD dislplay.

Sansui amp au11000

Without seeing the amp nor having the service manual in front of me, it sounds like you have a severe offset problem. There is either an open resistor or transistor in the early stages. With the output transistors removed from the unit, look around at voltage levels to determine where the fault is. I will try to locate the service manual. Can you post the parts that you have replaced?

Thanks,
Dan

NAD 712 Display unit

On my system the bulbs burned out some time ago. Today, I bought a pair of 12v micro lamps at Radio Shack (part 272-1092). Then removed the board behind the display and replaced the bulbs. This required some soldering. The bulbs have held up for more than 6 hours, so I do not think they are going to burn out.

I replaced it with a 6V lamp. Radio Shack part# 272-1140. It cost $1.49.

the lamps i use on all NAD displays(and have done since the early 1990's) last heaps longer. You can get them from RS components in your country. They are a 14v 37ma type, and seem to last. Never had any come back for replacement again. P/N 351-9585. Increasing the ballast resistor where fitted by 25% in valua also helps preserve them
