I am having the same problem. My wife put in a microwave popcorn bag, and something happend during the cycle. Since then, when we run the microwave, nothing gets heated. If you use any of the settings that require the humidity sensor, the microwave shuts off and displays "F3H" on the screen. Anyone know how to fix this?

I found the fix to the F3H error on another site. Just turn the power to the microwave off for ~2 minutes at the circuit breaker, and then turn it back on. Microwave will start working again then.

AWESOME!!! THANK YOU!!! I was making popcorn while my daughter was visiting this past week and it showed that error. I chatted with Whirlpool - and - after giving her a BUNCH of information so that she could find someone locally to come and fix it she comes back on and says "she's having 'issues' with her system" and gives me a 4,000 character link to find my own local tech. I got online to help myself and found a local company with a $56.00 minimum charge just to come to your house. I started searching around online a bit more and found this site and your suggestion...tried it...and right now I'm eating some freshly popped popcorn!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH!!! Awesome!!!!!

check the micro switch in the middle, or your door is loose and not making good contact with the micro switches, to test push on the middle of handle then cook if comes on again it is a switch issue

Not heating

Hello

Power Supply

Check whether there is a proper power supply. Look to see whether the cord is connected to a grounded 3-prong outlet and the cord is fully plugged in. If the electrical system is built-in and no power cord is visible, replace or reset the household fuse or circuit breaker.

Microwave Functions

Some basic microwave operational steps may affect whether the microwave is heating. Open and close the microwave door, as the unit will not function with the door open, and push "Stop/Clear" to cancel any previous settings, such as the timer, which do not heat the microwave oven.

Setting the Microwave

Once the power to the microwave has been reset, or verified as working, and the microwave is ready to run, select a new cook cycle and press "Start" to see if the microwave begins to run and cook food as expected. Allow the food to cook for the alloted time and then open the microwave door and check to see if the food has cooked or heated. Choose a longer cooking time and restart the microwave if food is heating but is cooking slowly.

Repair

If all efforts to troubleshoot the function and power to the microwave still do not get the appliance heating food as expected, there may be a repair issue that needs to be addressed. Contact professional technician for advice.

When trying to popcornn the sense goes off and F3H comes on

F3H means you have a failing humidity sensor, but the first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes. Then let us know if the hard reset does not fix it.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

If you don't find yours, or if you want to look at it without disassembling the oven, you can usually download it here.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Microwave suddenly stopped working

Code F3 indicates an open / defective thermistor / temperature sensor. The first suspects when a microwave is not heating would be the door switches, bad connections on the magnetron terminal or bad connections on the control board. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info (as well as a text file which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems) at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk
