There is usually a 3 pin assembly with two of them connected with a jumper. They are labels pin 1,2 & 3.

you connect the middle pin to 1 or 3 for normal operation and the opposite to reset the bios and remove the password.

start looking for them near the motherboard battery and bios chip.

if you change the jumper on the wrong pins then it is very unlikely you will do any damage, just put it back to how it was before that.

I would like to introduce Windows Password Reset Tool . it not only supports XP, 2000, and NT, I have personally tested it with Vista and windows 7. It works perfectly to reset any local user account to a blank password. I Wrote it to an 1GB USB flash drive do this. Booting up and clearing a password takes a minute or two works like a charm. You can download it from http://www.windows7password.net . It also supports cd/dvd

Forgot asus laptop password Windows vista

Forgetting your Windows administrator login password. With no way to get into the system, you can’t even perform basic maintenance, let alone a thorough tune-up. Formatting is always an option, but we consider that a last resort. (Plus, guess who’s going to have to help reinstall all the programs lost after a wipe?) But all hope is not lost. There are a few ways to actually retrieve a lost Windows account password. Read on, and we’ll show you the light.

1st Method:
The first thing which you check if you forget login password. When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account "Administrator" and sets its password to blank. So if you have forget your user account password then try this:
Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type "Administrator" (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from "Control Panel -> User Accounts".
Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.

2th Method:
There are a lot of Windows password revealers and crackers available, but we’ve found that Windows Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
Windows Password Recovery Tool is one of the easiest password recovery tools to use. It allows you to reset a user account password, including the Administrator password. It is also a relatively small download.

Unlock a 450rog computer

Basically, at Windows XP Welcome Screen, simply press Ctrl-Alt-Del keys sequence together twice, and you will be shown a Log On to Windows menu which you can specify User Name and Password. In the User Name text box, key in “Administrator” (without quote) and leave the Password field blank. Then press Enter or click on OK. If there is not password protects the Administrator account, or blank password is set, then you will be able to access the Windows with full administrative privileges as Administrator.

Locked computer

Bugsy, just in case-have you tried without a password? By pressing and holding down the power button 5+ secs will power down the machine. Removing the battery will shut it down too. The issue is "will you still be locked out when you reboot?" You should try starting in safemode when you reboot (pressing F8) during the initial boot process and see if you can log in as administrator(no password). If you can access safemode try to reset the administrators password in user accounts. Let me know if you've made any progress. Tim
