This was taken from a frozen screen, but the lines actually move.

  • Lezlie Russo Feb 24, 2008

How expensive is do you think that might be? We have an old Mitsubishi 40" in our garage that no longer works, any chance any of the parts might be salvagable from it.

    The other is a VS405R

Thank you for your help. We will give that a shot. We don't really want to replace our current TV, so if this works, we will be most appreciative. Have a great night.

Well, the boards look entirely different on each. The 60" looks like one huge board, but the 40" has 3 separate boards. What do you think the chances are of finding a used replacement board, and if so, what do you think it would cost? Thanks for your help.

DO you know which IC may be causing this. I contacted PTS and they told me that if it is one of 2 IC's,
IC700& IC2V00. they could not repair it.

If these are black lines across the picture check Capacitor C933 100uf @ 35 volts for being open it is located on the main PC Board.

That's a bad IC on the signal board casing that its called line pairing. I will try to locate a used board if you would like. Parts are no longer available for te VZ3 chassis. Let me know if you would like me to see if can locate a used board.

Thats a real good possibility what is the model numbe on that set and I will cross reference the models for you.

You will have to remove the back cover on the VS405R tv to see if the chassis looks the same as your current set. The405R used 2 different chassis. They were famous for bad yokes killing the sets so the boards should still be good if they are the same as the other set.

Thats too bad. The board will probaly run in the neighborhood of 200.00 used compared to about 600 new. You may consider giving PTS a call alot of times they will rebuild the board in question for a reasonable price. They have a toll free number. If you would like to give them a call here is their link.

Its IC700 is the IC. Its probably no longer available. I can check into a use board.Thats probably your only option if you want to repair the set.

I have a mistubishi tv model wd-65737 with bad picture. I replaced the video chip and color wheel but that didn't work....is it possibly that dmd board?..thx

Hi, can you tell me what you see on the screen? It could be a bad cable. Are you using an HDMI cable or the color cables (RCA cables)?

Scrolling diagonal lines

The cable box signal on the components video have a too high refresh rate frequency, that is the reason for the lines.
Use RCA cables or an alternative connection.
Other solution is changing the display out settings for cable box (from PAL to NTSC etc.)

Trying to use ps3, even after using hdmi cable on input 6 or 7, it says check your device output and i see green lines on my screen?

hi
There maybe some problem with your TVs resolution. ps3 outputs full hd high resolution video(1080p) through its HDMI. May be your TV is not supporting that resolution. Connect ps3's component video out to your TV's component video input and then try. if it ask for any resolution selection. select 720p or 1080i, above that resolution your TV will not support. Your tv is hd ready one, not full hd. ps3 's HDMI out is full hd (1080p).
or try this
Connect your ps3 to any full hd tv and then goto video setup of ps3. change resolution to 1080i (down scaling ). then connect to your TV via HDMI. surly u will get the video.
ok

Jumping lines throughout the screen affecting quality of picture

You didn't say weather the lines are verticle or horizontal, but if the lines are verticle check the circuit for a weak capacitor or if the lines are check the horizontal circuit for a weak capacitor. During your check check for cold solder joints, idf you come across ant re-solder then. Good luck.

Mitsubishi rearTV has intermittent wavy lines running throughout

Do you have anything to test it in 1080i? Does it do it on all connections or just one? I had a similar problem with my TV that turned out to be a bad input board. Mine would only display 1080i through the Component connections. All others would show pink and green wavy lines. It cost me around 500 to fix it. Unplug the TV. Remove the back cover for the TV. Using a NON-metal object, or gloves, wiggle the input board (that has all the video connections on it) slowly back and forth and see if the problem comes and goes. You will have to have someone watching for you. If something is loose on that board, the problem should show itself. Narrowing down the problem will probably save you money on repair bills.

RCA D52130 52 in. Won't Display High Def

Hi!
I doubt you'll look at this 2 years later, or even have the T.V.

I have the same TV and was able to view ps3 and xbox 360 games in 1080i, but it's a little tricky. First, let me say that the ps3 is probably not the best system to try using 1080i in unless you have a 360 to help trick the tv into working.

Xbox 360
You need to first set the video to 1080i. This will make the screen display in a bunch of horizontal lines most of the time, but if you keep toggling it on and off, it eventually works. To avoid having to sit and swap between the two modes, it's easier to first set it to 1080i and confirm the setting, then go back into the settings, select 720 (first option above 1080i) and cancel as soon as the video mode changes. 95% of the time this will make it display correctly in 1080i mode. If you turn the tv off and back on, it will sometimes reset to the horizontal lines. If you restart the xbox, it will reset to horizontal lines most of the time. With the ps3, you can set it to 1080i and keep toggling it until it works, but when the game launches it can screw up again, so it's best to have the xbox on and ready with a component switch so you can fix it with the xbox then switch back to the ps3. I think the cable that comes with the tv for HD input (the component plugs don't work, they only support 480, but the vga looking input supports 1080i) - the cable is just poor quality and can barely handle the signal. I've been trying to find a better quality cable with no luck.

Hope this helps other people with this ancient beta HD input canadian tvness.

Samsung hln567w Gray horizontal lines

have you tried a system restore to get your resolution back?

You may then try to take a different path in fixing your problem.

if you cant system restore try installing the previous driver you had.

could you post up what your "computer problems" were exactly?

the more info the better*

We may know another solution for it other than updating your driver and losing you resolution options
