Question about Dell Photo 964 All-In-One InkJet Printer
The same thing happen to me and i fixed it with paper clips. you see on the black piece where it is broken where the spring connects? it suposed to be a small hole for the spring to connect to. so what i did was bent a paperclip in half so it had a loop and made it into an L shape. on the black thing near where the spring connects, there is a hole that nothing goes in. put the L shaped paperclip in that and have the loop on the paperclip face where the broken part is. to get this piece of paper clip to stay in place i took bent pieces of paperclips and shoved them in that hole. make sure they are in good so they dont fall out. heres kind of a picture of the paperclip. the o is the loop which goes over the broken part of the black piece. and stick that bottom part in that empty hole of the black piece. if you would like email me email@example.com and i can probably sketch you a better picture.

I think you may have the skills to make it
get some plastic epoxy or , i get them from a auto parts store but you can also find them in home improvement stores, etc
make a small paper cylindrical mold that would engulf the old plastic piece, fill it with epoxy to the top, turn it upside down and place it on the plastic part where the old hook was. once solid you can cut this to size so it will hold the spring.
