what brand? what does it look like? should be a heavy screw-on cap on water tank. Fill with soft or distilled water, power on, and should be a red light that comes on when hot enough for steam

went online and looked at blogs by other people.... dont need the steamer insert if you are not steaming anything. The 10 cup maker uses 10 cups (included in box) and makes almost 20 cups rice!!
Steamers are very brand-specific machines (meaning that they work differently from brand to brand). I would say you should contact Argos and see if they can send you out a manual, or at least explain how the steamer works--usually they can get you the manual for free! Good luck! :)
Not sure, but I would be interested in parts if you have any extra. I need a double burner for mine. I have a burner for one side and a grill and steamer for the other. I do not use the steamer but would love additional burners.
