Gaggia evolution- water doesnt flow through the brewer

The problem appeared when I tried to descale the machine using gaggia's descaling solution. Before that the machine worked fine. Now I have water throu steamer, I hear the pumper, but the water doesnt flow! When it has warmed the water in the boiler and I press the button, I do not hear the same loud from the pump, but a smoother one and of course the water cannot flow. Any suggestion?

I too have the same problem. I descaled the machine. The pump sounds like it is working but nothing is coming out!

water flows out at a trickle rate. I've tried without installing the portafilter and I can see a slow trickle which doesn't register any pressure on the pressure gauge.

I descaled my Coffee Deluxe machine and am now having a water flow problem. Water comes out the centre hole in the filter holder just fine but when I put the filter back on, the holding screw blocks the flow and nothing comes out. Is the water only supposed to flow through the center hole or does it pour through the four surrounding holes on the filter holder too? I can't seem to figure out how to remove it. I can remove the two hex bolts on either side but it hasn't been removed in several years and is all crusted tight; where can I grab/pry without damaging it or the gasket?

Hi,

Make sure your filter in the machine and in the filter holder is clean, the filter in filterholder there you will see a little light in the middle if you head it to light, else you have to replace the filter.

My Gaggia Titanium has an ventilate problem when it is stil cold. After starting up, autotest and running pump, it appears whit message ventilate. It takes a long time steaming or hot water after the

The ventilate sign appears as an error message to tell operator that the flow of water is reduced. I can tell that the machine has not been descaled or was descaled using unscrupulous products that are labeled as descaler but they are not.
Because the sign disappears at this time after flushing water through the steam pipe, the flow restores the sensing that water is flowing normal. This "apparent restoration" of water flow is without any back pressure. The espresso function is restored for limited use.
This error code if not corrected immediately, it will not disappear and not allow any function even after flushing water manually.
The flow meter registers the quantitative flow of water as programmed for espresso.
Please descale the machine as soon as possible. before the 'Ventilate' error message stops all functions.
This is a well designed machine. Needs more attention to maintenance.

I have a Gaggia Evolution expresso maker about 8 years old. When button is pressed to start motor it just hums and no hot water comes out. The motor only runs if I open the steam outlet

Try this, under the grouphead, there is a screw and screen, remove those, and check screen to see if it is clogged, when screen is removed press button to brew, if water flows freely then problem is at the screen, if no water flows, then it is on the inside of the machine. You will have to run a descale cycle to clear out machine. Check the folling pic for the screen location.2722dbe.jpg

Gaggia Classic - water not flowing

Remove the screw and shower in the group, then press the brew button, if water flows then clean shower. I will send instructions for descale and backflush. Cut time for backflush by half.

Low water flow from gaggia evolution only 6 months old, have tried descaling, no obvious scale found in machine. pump starts but goes quiet, very feeble flow of water.

I have now solved this problem. The lack of flow associated with the pump working but running quietly is caused by the Group Head being blocked with limescale. Normal descaling cannot remove it because it cannot penetrate the Group Head.
Removing the Group Bell can be achieved using a collection of screws (see photo) and works no matter how stubborn the thing: levering it with a screwdriver in my case was impossible as it was so well glued on. 6d47425.jpg
I figure that the advice to replace the rubber seal once per year is a good one because it forces you to remove the Group Bell and clean it out.
