Question about Philips Vesta Pro Webcam
The webcam and the mic works for a while and then skype tells me there is a problem and doesn't specify. On MSN it simply doesn't work! I keep going to webcam and audio set up and going through all the various tests, and still, it doesn't work. At times the blue light above is permanently turned on even when I no programmes using it, and at other times it tells me that it is being used by another programme - when i don't think it is. Have no idea how to fix this. is it just bust?!
Surprise, surprise the cam isn't in your list, so I stuck the make and model into the subject.

I have a SPC1300Nc and have no audio and nothing like it shows on Pg 19 of the manual for MIc volume. That area is blank. The LED light is on sometimes and not on other times but the camera is working.
This is a very poor Manual and should address problems that. we, the consumer can experience. The software driver did not work and had to go and download one from your home website. This is getting frustrating.

The pdf instruction manual that came with the webcam shows the audio setup page as having gain contols for the microphone. However, the software that came with the camera did not have the gain controls on the setup page. Where do I get software that allows me to turn off the microphones. The built in microphones interfere with my headset/boom mike I prefer to use.

See section A. Skype in the info below to setup the Audio & Video.
Also send this to your family and friends so they have their computer setup properly.
Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.
A. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/) set it up as follows:
B. Yahoo Setup:
After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger (http://ca.messenger.yahoo.com/download/ ) set it up as follows:
When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.
Hope this helps. Bud
