Doesn't sound good, does it?

First, make sure your popup blocker is turned on.

Second, Do you have any anti-spyware programs down loaded? If so, run them. AdAware is good, and free, as is Spybot!

If you need help with doing this, get back to me.

How do I get rid of advertising and pop-ups

Since we expect everything for free on the net, it is unrealistic to expect that there won't be popups and advertising. The only way we'll ever get rid of them is to go to a pay-as-you-view system, and that's not likely any time soon. There are popup blockers you can activate in your web browsers, but trying to dump adverts on things like YouTube videos is not possible. It's the cost of doing business on the web.

Getrid of popus and fake security warnings

When you are browsing the internet and suddenly a window pop up with different messages for example" free update for your computer ","scan your computer with free anti-virus". May be some pop-ups messages helpful for you but you should read first in detail before clicking it. Pop-ups basically an advertiser message or unwanted program and website that might be disturb your computer performance.
If you are working with Internet Explorer and want to block the pop-ups windows and unwanted messages. Open the Internet Explorer and click on Tools menu and go to Pop-up Blocker option, here you can Turn Off Pop-up Blocker to block pop-up from all websites. But you have option to allow some websites for pop-up. For this purpose open the Pop-up Blocker Setting. Here you can add some specific websites name to allow for pop-up and click Add. If you feel any problem to block any pop-up message due to some problem, simply click on the X at the right top of the pop-up windows.

HI

it seems that there is some static electricity stored in the computer..........do you leave the computer turned on 24/7?

anyways...here is the fix...

turn off the computer(make sure there are no lights on the keyboard)

disconnect all the cables(including the power cable)

press and hold down the power button for 30 to 40 seconds and release it.

plug in all the cables

turn on the computer

this should work(this releases the static which is stored in the computer)

to avoid this make sure the computer is off when its not in use.....

if that doesnt work you try reseating the hard drive

or you can try to enter to bios to test the functionality of the hard drive

tap f10 or f2 key as soon as you turn on the computer

keep tapping it till you see a screen

press NO if you are asked to choose yes/no

look for advanced>>primary hard disk self test>>run the quick and comprehensive test to check the functionality

if you are able to enter into bios(hardware is fine)

try to go to SAFE MODE by tapping F8(ADVANCED BOOT OPTIONS)

SAFE MODE>>START>>RUN>>MSCONFIG>>START UP>>DISABLE START UP ITEMS>>APPLY>>OK>>

RESTART THE COMPUTER

this should work

please have some patience and try doing this your computer should work

have a good day

This sounds like the game is trying to start in a resolution not supported by your monitor. There may be a command line switch for the game in question that would either force a specific resolution or to start it at a lowest common resolution.

Right click on a blank area of the destop screen and select properties from the menu that pops up, adjust your monitor settings and refresh rate to that suggested and see if it helps. dont worry if you press something wrong and cant see properly, just dont press anything and the settings will revert back after 15 seconds.

My computer will turn on go thru all the motions like it is working it says windowsxp then goes to welcome screen then goes to my screen it wont show any programs or the start

It seems the Explorer.exe is not running properly or isn't loading. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete (when it shows nothing on the screen) on the keyboard, the Task Manger will pop up, click "File" and select "New Task (Run)" and type in "explorer.exe" (without quotes), wait for few seconds, it should open up all the features properly, if this fails, go into Safe Mode and try again. To go into Safe Mode, restart the computer and keep tapping the F8 button on the keyboard until you see the Advanced Boot Options with Safe Mode as one of the options. Select Safe Mode using the arrow keys on the keyboard and press enter, you will see white texts in the black screen, wait until you see a warning to confirm whether you want to boot into Safe Mode or not, give a positive input and proceed forward, once windows is loaded, you better run a full system virus scan or I would also recommend System Restore.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.
