Question about RCA RP5030 Digital Voice Recorder

1 Answer

My recorder says "full" when i try to record, but i have deleted everything!!??!!

I bought this recorder a little over a year ago, and have been using it without any problems until recently.

currently, when i try to record anything, the "FULL" message flashes on the screen, and it won't let me record.

the problem is, i have DELETED everything on the recorder, following the instructions, as i have always done, since i bought it.

(and yes, i am sure i have deleted everything properly...)

has anyone encountered this problem before?

thanks.

    Same problem?

  • Anonymous Oct 15, 2008

I was using the recorder no problem, then after I had erased some of the recordings, my recorder would no longer record. I would try to record my class lectures and the screen would flash full. formatting it as suggested has seemed to help. Guess I'll know after I erase the next batch of classes and meetings.

Solution for this problem is to Format the recorder. Step 1 is to turn on unit. Step 2 Press Erase " Delete will flash on the display. Step 3 Press and hold Rec for 3 seconds "Format" will flash on the display. Step 4 Press and hold Erase, the completed percentage will show on the display (formatting is now in progress). Step 5 After formatting is completed the remaining time will show on the display. You should now be able to record. Make sure that you hold the ERASE button in step 4 until Formatting shows 100% complete.

Flip video instruction manual

Had the same problem. After trying everything, this worked:
From a command prompt, list directories. You might see one called ".Trashes\501" -- this is the directory where I found all the videos hiding that we tried every trick in the book to delete. If you see video files in this directory, simply delete them using the command prompt. Then exit the command line interface and check your camera. You should have a full 60 minutes of recording time restored.
Hope this works for you!

hi there is nothing to do by yourself. you need to take your md player to the next authorized service. seems the optical device that reads the discs has worn out, compareable to turntables you need to change the `needle` ;)

When i push the botton REC appear on the screen C:full and does not recorder

I was about to throw my DV-01 away because of the same C: full signal. It appears that most modern SD cards are different to those of a few years ago or the device can not handle anything over 1 GB. When I use a small SD from 5 years ago the problem is solved.

This is caused by a bad flex cable. More specifically the upper ear flex. It has malfunctioned (mostly due to water damage) and keeps recording memo notes (as if you are pushing the side button). This can be serviced easily. Usually $30-$45

Voice record memory full & screen froze

Are you able to get into the software to purge the voice records?

If not, it sounds like the phone needs to be "reflashed" at an authorized service centre. Take it where you bought it. It should not cost you if it is less than one year old (warranty).

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Might be the PCA aka power calibration area portion of the lens that reads that might not be reading it. Here is a little bit more info on PCA.  Power Calibration Area of a recordable or rewritable disc that precedes lead-in and the PMA, where the optimum laser power level for writing can be determined by a recording drive
