Abnormal noise and vibration

Hello, experts. My Frigidaire GLD2150RCC has after three year's service developed an unusual noise and vibration. It seems to be occurring when the washer is pumping out to drain. It does this upon first start up and then in later cycles when it is pumping.

It creates a deep vibration that rattles the cabinets. It seems to be laboring hard, like pump cavitation. There is no air gap installed. I am guessing that the drain hose is partially blocked or perhaps the pump is simply worn.

The washer otherwise washes normally and effectively.

    Thanks, willymik, I'll investigate.

If I end up deciding it's a blockage, where do you suggest I look first? Easiest route seems to be at the hose to trap connection, yes?

To follow up on this problem, I successfully solved the problem.

I disassembled the drain pump and found a piece of a toothpick in amongst the impeller vanes. I don't know if was actually preventing the impeller from turning or if it simply was interfering with the impeller but after removing it, the washer is back to normal operating condition.

Frigidaire refrigerator makes chugging sound

Hi - Generally speaking, it is normal for Frigidaire refrigerators to making a vibrating, snapping, dripping noises however not a chugging noise. From what you have described it sounds like it could POSSIBLY be the drain sucking in air or it could be refrigeration through the evaporator. A constant noise could indicate a serious problem with one or more components. This is a repair that should be left to a refrigerator service expert.

Fridge making loud vibrating sound .

Uggh that has been one of the hardest things to diagnose in my 30 year appliance tech career,
the only way you can determine what is vibrating it touch everywhere and the noise will disapper when you grab right place since the sound is suddendly being dampened by your hand

i wish you good luck

Why does my self cleaning gas water heater make clicking noises?

All tank water heaters make some amount noise, clicking and "snapping" sounds, particularly after much of the hot water in tank has been used (like after a long shower) and has been replaced by cold water that is being heated vigorously.

If the noises are accompanied by poor or erratic performance, or obviously if something malfunctions, you may require the services of a repair connection.

Hope this helps.

Why is my dishwasher making a buzzing noise? It is almost 2 years old and is a GE brand we got from Sears. It is still cleaning and filling and emptying properly, but the buzzing noise is driving me...

Sounds like a noisy circulation pump motor. As an Engineer, I would treat any abnormal noise seriously; the motor may require examination and possibly a new start capacitor fitting? or it may be loose or have a problem with its impeller, etc. Or it could possibly be a relay for the heating element is noisy. Either way, abnormal noises are unusual, and dishwashers need to be 100% reliable as they are often used unattended or overnight and any problem might indicate a possible fire risk. Sorry to be so heavy - is the machine subject to any guarantees or extended insurance etc? Some have 5 year guarantees. Whatever, I would call an engineer out to have it checked over.

Frigidaire FRS26R4A Vibrating Noise

Finally called a service technician. He said the compressor was bad and needs replacing. Fortunately, I'm in the 2nd - 5th year of my limited warranty so parts and labor are covered. He also said that the FRS26R4A is "junk" and it helps to support his family.

Mine is a FDB635RFS4 model - issue is loud screeching noise

i recently had the same problem of a loud screeching noise. my unit was installed new in 1999 and has worked well up to this point.

when i disassembled the tub water filter i found the filter was heavily clogged (it is supposed to be self cleaning), and i also found glass shards from a broken wine glass. i further disassembled the plastic housing under the filter ( held in place by three torx drive screws ) which covers the pump impeller and holds the lower spray arm. while i did not find any blockage in the pump area, and no abnormal sound when i turned the impeller by hand, i did find that one of the pump impeller vanes has a small chip which probably makes the impeller unbalanced resulting in more than normal vibration. i cleaned the water filter and reassembled the parts and the original screeching noise is now gone.
