Model M17ANA shuts off intermediatly Turns on ok but after a few seconds shuts off then back on again.

The issue you describe is a power supply gone bad. Actually it is a capacitor inside the PS that is now defective (it may be more than one). This seems to be a frequent problem with this particular monitor as I have personally had the same issue with one a owned.

Unfortunatly there is no good solution as there are basically only two options available to you.

1. Find an 'electronics /computer shop' that will remove the PS and repair it.
2. send the monitor to Star-Logic for repair.

The basic issue with either scenario is that the cost to repair may be more than the unit is actually worth. For instanse, you can purchase a new 20" LCD monitor for less than $90 form places like newegg.com.

I hope this helps you in some way.

Good Luck!

Monitor turns on, but only flashes once and no screen appears

Hello,

You have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of he monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix he problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictues and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping. I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Out Of Range

It means the LCD does not like the resolution or refresh signals from your video card. Try a resolution like 1024 x 768 at 60 or 72 Hz refresh.
