Question about Philips 27MT3305 27" TV
My magnavox tv screen has lost the picture about 3 inches from the top, its just black space now, with about a half inch of upside-down picture, then the rest of the picture itself. I'm learning that I need a capacitor changed, but how do I identify the correct one? I have the TV open and am looking at the control board/circuit board, and there are several capacitors there to choose from.
Anybody have any advice?
As far as i know, you have a problem with the vertical driver or output
try to replace first the vertical driver its a silicon type transistor, i recommend because its the cheapest, for you to know which ic is it, locate the ic with 7 pins then look for the series no of the part. the next in series silicon type transistor is the vertical driver, if no changes you have to replace the 7 pin ic, which is the vertical output

Firstly, you do look & feel for any swollen or burst capacitors. if they all look good, get a multimeter & set it to the correct measurement & measure the capacitor. The capacitor's rating wud be on it.
