there is nothing inside a PC that will keep it or anything else from connecting to a wireless network. You have to lookout for things that use the same frequency such as cordless phones and believe it or not microwave ovens. both broadcast at 2.4Ghz which is the same frequency wireless routers and access points use. Your problem may also be a neighbor with a wireless router or access point using the same channel. Wireless routers and access points have 11 different channels that they can broadcast on and if you and your neighbor are using the same channel there will be interference. try changing the channel on your wireless router or access point.

First step is to check your wireless swich on notebook. If it is on then follow the steps given below
click on start >> go to control panel >> double click on network and internet connections >> right click on wireless network connection >> click on properties and go to wireless tab >> check the box at the top that says use windows utility >> click on ok and then right click on wireless network connection and click view available wireless networks. It will show you your network name. click and connect to your network.

Can not change the wireless channel

A very good question!
I'd love to answer this. Belkin utility at times has some bugs. As you said you have downloaded the latest version of drivers and utility. Latest drivers are good but utility will not be of much use, I, as a technician would highly recommend that you use Wireless Zero Configuration in case of Win XP or WLAN Auto-config in case in case of Win Vista or Win 7. But if you have older versions of Windows, older than Win XP, only then utility has to be used. Enable WZC and WLAN A-C in Microsoft Services(Local) page.

Start > Run > services.msc > Ok > Services (Local) > Start the service.

At worst instances, if you are forced to use the utility, remove all SSID (wireless network names) from My Connections. Note: Remove all of them completely.

Also, i would recommend that you configure your wireless mode to be "802.11g only" on the router as F5D7001 is a 802.11g standard PCI card, and also turn ON the wireless PROTECTED MODE on the router. This will enhance the performance of your wireless devices in cases of heavy wireless traffic.

This is sure to work! Again, thanks for such a question.

Have an airlink card bus

If you have access to change the wireless routers channel do that. Log onto your router from the wired connection probably 192.168.x.1 (x is your subnet, find this by going to run>type cmd>hit enter>type ipconfig>hit enter the gateway IP should be your router

type that ip in a browser i.e. http://192.168.x.1 and log in go to wireless settings and find the channel option. usually you'll want to keep it at 1,6, or 11

(if your wireless utility doesn't show channels) go to your wireless pc and install netstumbler > install it > click the scan button and you should see all of access points around you. choose a channel that is used the least between 1, 6 and 11 and save that as your new channel on the router, as you are probably getting a lot of interference.

second try using the built in windows utility instead of the airlink one

also
update network drivers
update router firmware
don't sit around large metal objects :)

Wireless in dell lap top

It has something to do with the use of your wireless connection especially if it is an open access service. It is possible that there are many users in your area and you have to share the bandwidth of the wireless connection that reduce the efficiency of your laptop. Try finding another source where only few people connect.
