My charger is not working (NOT DS LITE)

My charger was working for a long time, then I pluged it up, and it didn't start charging. The light didn't come on.

When I plug the charge in the light on the DS flashes on briefly if I wiggle the connecting lead but then nothing, I suspect its a probelm with the DS as I have tried other chargers that work on my family's DS.

Hi,
Check the fuse in the Plug ?
also give the connector to DS a little side to side wiggle, to see if it,s a bad connection.

Just go to toys'r'us and ask the guy there if he can fix it and if he cant look inside the plug on the charger and see if its bent then us a tooth pick or pen to move it if that doesn't work buy a new one

SOURCE: Charge a DS lite without DS charger

well the only way is to use a phone charger but your risking your ds so try to see if it is 6.2v or over if they are then don't use it cuz it could like over power your ds

Ds lite wont power on the green light is on, any suggestions of a diy repair

The wireless board on the main motherboard must be checked to see if it has come loose. This presents as the charge orabge lamp works with the charger pluged in, On green light comes on when power switch pushed once and stays on without flashing. Pushing the power switch once more puts the green light out. Bruce

We had this problem with a brand new DS Lite...turns out it was a bad charger. If you have access to another charger, try that first. Good luck!

I plugged the charger into my ds lite and the light didnt came on

:O) so the pencil idea didn't work? surprising :O)

Is the charger actually working? can you borrow one or test yours on anothers DS?

The charging socket may have become loose and requires re soldering or other damage on the mainboard like one of the fuses. Get it to a repair shop

Nintendo ds lite won't power up

Try two things.

  1. One of the LCD screens is making a short circuit. Disconnect them and see if the charge led turns on. If so, check these screens (or replace them)
  2. You could also have a defective Wireless PCB (the small PCB that has the black Wifi Cable connected). If that PCB is defective, loose or even missing, the DS Lite will do nothing at all

Ds lite charging lite comes on but when i press power button nothing happens

Are you leaving the DS charge until the light comes off? Remember that there are two likes too, one for charging and one for power. If you're just charging for some random period of time (lets say... One hour) then your Battery isn't going to be fully charged. The best way to ensure that your DS Lite is charged is to leave it charge until the charge light turns off. You can play your DS Lite while you are charging (I do it all the time), but it just means that you're just running off of the outlet.

A good test is to charge it fully (until the charge light comes off), unplug the charger cord (Make sure it's secured tightly to your DS while charging), then play for a little bit, your light should be a normal color (green).

If you cannot even play by using the outlet, then you need to
find a charger cord that actually works (You may need to send in the charger for replacement). If the same thing happens with 2 different batteries (assuming that you have two official Nintendo batteries).

TIP: Also run your fingers across the Charger cord. You're going to get a slight friction burn from the rubber, but you're going to get all of the kinks out of the wire in the cord. My charger cord had a similar problem (did not charge all the way, only charged until I moved the DS) but when I ran my fingers across it (pinching) it worked again.

Also check the pins in both charger cords, charging will not work if one pin is missing, nor if any are bent.
