Problem for Maytag MFD2560HES Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator

Maytag MFD2560HES stay at 33 freezer and 50 fridge

I have this maytag MFD2560HES for about 2 1/2 years.

In june 2007 the problem was that freezer was working fine but fridge was @ 68. So I replaced the evaporator fan motor and fixed the problem.
Since then it happened 2 time that freezer @ 30 and fridge @ 50. Each time it came back up running by itself after one day and now it just happen again.

Recently i can hear the lound noise like bad hair clipper/trimmer from this fridge.

Any help greatly appreciated.

- Just notice about noise. The loud bad hair clipper/trimmer happen every 2 minutes and last about 7 seconds.

- Just open back panel and did test as you've mentioned. No oil No leaks and it's dry.

Hi,
Sounds like an electrical fault.
check the balance or levelling of the unit.
could also be the compressor on the way out.
do you have any refigerant leaks ?

I've been told by a tech who repaired my MFD2560HEQ this past week that many of this model had a problem with compressor failure. Your symptoms are classic. What you are hearing is the starter relay trying to start a warm/hot compressor by supplying it with an extra jolt of electricity, but because of the faulty compressor (or if you are lucky a faulty relay) that's warm (cool ones start more easily often) is refusing to budge into motion and compress the freon. Maytag, I believe, has a five year warranty on the compressors. They did on mine, but unless you have an extended warranty the labor replacing it is not covered and that will be around 2-3 hours worth. This is the price we are paying for our quest for energy efficiency. Compressors are being built so small and light that they fail much more often than grandma's old, old refrigerator that was built like Fort Knox and ran for 45 years, remember? But we're being energy efficient! Thank you environmental extremists! I wish I could send you the repair bill.

your fridge is out of prion there must be a leaked on the tube connecting to the motor..

try to touch the some tube that connect to the motor where prion was loaded, if you touch some oil outside, you better call a repairman to test it, because there's a possiblity when the oil leaks the motor could be broke.

- Some adjustment to the electrical supply from the fridge, the motor make a noise when it oprerates, it could be you got a low voltage or it supply much higher for the volt needed..

- lucky the motor/compressor is Ok. now it's only a minor problem, you need a service tech to test and calibrate the proper power supply settings for your fridge.
