my video recorder will not show a picture when i want to record. it says the lens cap is on and to manual focus. i tried the manual focus and still no pic. it is just a black screen, however, it will playback things i have previously recorded with no problem. please help!! my model is a jvc gr-d33u

I am unable to record any video. Playback is fine. The screen went black and at times asks me to remove lens cap...even when it is not covering lens.

Same problem. jvccamcorder, who are you, and why does JVC offer free fix? Is this true even if camcorder is out of warranty?
