Scrolling picture on an old big screen

I have a vs-6701 mitsubishi big screen. it has been working great for years but all the sudden, the picture just started scrolling up. it does it on all inputs. i have tried to ask local tv repair places but they just want to charge me instead of just letting me know what to do.

ya i think i have found what you are talking about. patch a wire between the c7001 and that small black thing at the bottom. i am going to do it tonight. if that doesnt sound right just let me know, please.

These models have been known to have faulty capacitors on the PIP module as a result thy loose vertical synvh and the picure will roll. The PIP module is no longer available. But if you would like I can post a way for you to bypass the module and if the modle is at fault your tv will work fine, but you wont have PIP anylonger

Thats one way but if that doesnt work I have a way to bypass the pip module all together by removing it completely and injecting two .47uf @ 35V capacitors. If you need the proceedure, let me know.

There is a quick test you can do to determine if the problem is in your PIP module, using two 4.7uf/50v electrolytic capacitors. The PIP module plugs into two connectors on the main board. Remove the PIP module, and on connector VP on the main board (the 11 pin connector), use one cap to jumper from pin 7 to 9 (negative lead on pin 9); and use the other cap to jumper from pin 5 to 11 (negative lead on pin 11). If the PIP module is bad, you will now have video. .Just solder a short piece of wire to each lead on the capacitor before starting this will prevent the leads shorting as they cross over each other. If this proceedure doesnt correct your problem it is reversible, then you will need to troubleshoot the vertical sync circuits. Let me know how you make out or if you need anything further.

Mitsubishi VS-60603 60 in pink spot

I have seen this before, and I can only describe it as a flaking of the phosphorus coating in one of the picture tubes. If you can, remove the back such that you can take a flashlight and look down into the 3 picture tubes. If you see any flaking or dark spots in the phosphor, there will be a spot on the screen missing that color. Unfortunately, this is not repairable, as all 3 tubes would need to be replaced (like replacing all 4 car tires when one is completely bald) and that would cost more than a new TV.
