Asus P5P800-Vm he gives no peep when y start the pc and no signal to the monitor

Put the new video card in, connect the monitor to it, boot in the BIOS and in there set the video card to Auto.

check the power supply; it's the most common thing to fail.
All the connections are made properly, i assume?

Don't be fooled. I have installed XP 64bit and windows XP still reports 3GB.

You may install up to 4GB of DDR RAM in this motherboard. It does not use DDR2.

This is from your manual:

Dual-channel DDR400 memory support
Employing the Double Data Rate (DDR) memory technology, the motherboard supports up to 4GB of system memory using DDR400/333/266 DIMMs.

your model is P5P800-VM Then click the search button.. you may put your operating system then you find all for download thanks.

If not install even you have all latest driver for win Vista then then please reinstall vista and try.. make sure your computer is virus free....
