Question about Vizio P4 46 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television
Had my tv on for about 10 minutes when I heard a loud Pop, the screen went black and tried to restart. There was another loud Pop, I turned off everything immediately, checked for damage (none) & unplugged everything. Should I try to reconnect and plug in the power?
This may have been the sound of electrolytic capacitors exploding. I would not suggest plugging the set back in until you can have it checked by a qualified TV technician. If you are skilled in Electronics and would like to work on this yourself, you will need:
The schematic diagram, a multimeter, a signal generator, an oscilloscope, and an isolation transformer.
I hope this helps,
