You've been overloading the machine and using the wrong liquid laundry soap, Huh?! You're supposed to ALWAYS use the HE liquid laundry soap per manufacturer's instruction manual. Oh well, it keeps us tech's in business. So here is the problem. The washer basket has a shaft with a spoked hub called the spider & shaft. The shaft is made of steel, but the spider spoke that connects the basket to the shaft BY DESIGN is made of aluminum which corrodes in certain types of oxidizers such as laundry soap. The spider/ shaft is broken! Therefore, you shortened the life of your washer by not following directions and abusing the machine. It's a common ignorant act of incompetence. I mean relly how many people actually sit down and read their owner's manual? Or, it's oh! I forgot. Although, the truth is most probably you were being cheap on soap and overloading to save time, soap, water and electricity.
Having said all that... your washer if finished. The cost of repairs aren't worth the effort. It's better if you just call a used appliance recycler person such as myself and have them pick it up for a small fee. Go out and buy a new washer/ dryer set with a 1 year warranty and buy an additional 2 years warranty to protect yourself from expensive repairs later. After 2 years usege... sell them on craigslist as used appliances and gobuy new machines again using the money from the previous machines to offset the cost of new ones. That's the best advice you'll get from someone who has done the numbers. New Front Load washers and dryer have a short life by corporate design and new and improved mission statements.
The washer is detecting too much soap. Make sure that you are using HE (high efficiency) soap Do a clean washer or hot cycle once a month with bleach or white vinegar with no clothes in it. Your washer only uses half the water that a regular machine does. The HE is specially designed for front loaders and these types of machines
Hello. If this is a newer washer of the HE type, be sure to use HE detergent only. IF it is not HE, do not use HE detergent. Instead use dry or liquid and remember this less is more! DO not use more detergent than it takes to get the job done. Start with one tablespoon of liquid or 2 tablespoons of dry and see how it does. As long as there are a few suds during the wash cycle you know you have enough soap. IF you have hard water you may need to increase the amount a wee bit if you are not seeing any suds during the wash cycle. Joe
neptune washers are the only front loaders that have a counter balance system and they do have water in them to do this. water sound is normal. when you are having an odor, it is from using the wrong soap or too much of the right soap. you need to be using "HE" type soap and dont use too much. what you are smelling is soap residues that are not getting rinsed out from the unit. they do make a special cleaning tablet called "affresh" and it is designed to clean out these residues. also your washer will have a " brush" type device around the front of outertub where the inner tub meet. it is between the tubs and will collect debris and can look nasty when dirty. clean all you can see and then try to run 1 cup bleach thru unit if you cant find affresh tablets. at lowes or sears. then make sure you use HE type soap next time to prevent build up and odors.
this usually depends on the type and brand of detergent you use. for example if you use standard detergent and it takes 1 cup, then you use concentrated detergent and it takes 1/2 cup. you have to check the detergent container for proper amount to use. for most detergents it is around 3/4 to 1 cup of detergent.
Ps. dont forget to rate my answer please. Thanks.
Generally an EFO error on a front load machine is caused by using too much soap, or the wrong type of soap. Ensure you are using HE (High Efficiency) soap in your front loader. HE soaps are specially formulated front loading units to be low sudsing, which is essential to a front loader.
SL is a suds lock code it can be caused by the drain pump not draining the water, too much detergent, non HE detergent, or extra heavy loads, try running it empty, if code persits it is a computer/main controller/timer failure
The control should flash this error code if it cannot detect the lid switch opening and closing properly. This error code may also be used if there is a disagreement between the motor and machine controllers on the state of the lid switch.
The control should not allow the unit to run in this condition. This code will also appear if the user presses the START key while the lid is open.
Open the lid or press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display
