Went to turn off the player and the screen went blank, but the power light remained on. Cannot get it to do anything, even when plugging in to the USB

I turn it on and either get a lot of colorful vertical lines, or a solid white screen. I've had it for under a year when the problem started. I had turned it off the night before and the next day when I turned it on the problem started.

When I turn my player on I get colorful vertical lines across the screen or a solid white screen. The problem began less than a year after I got it. I turned it off one night and the next day when I got it and tried to use it the problem started.

I cannot turn on or off my ZEN MP3 player. The screen is blank, and a blue light remains on at one side. Nothing shows when connected to the computer. It seems the MP3 player has gone into a state of coma....

The same happens to me when Mine gets confused ( going from song to radio) The only solution I came up with was to let teh battery run out and connect it up again. If anyone comes up with something better, let me know.

NOTE : reset is holding down the power button for 20 seconds. Try this.

1. Fully charge the unit.

2. Get a song to play.

3. Lock the device by moving the Hold/Power switch up.

4. Wait for the screen to blank to black, and also wait an ADDITIONAL 25-seconds after the screen blanks.

5. While holding the Play/Pause button down, move the Hold/Power switch out of the lock-mode, and all the way down (like you're turning it off).

6. Release the Play/Pause button.

SanDisk Sansa froze on song screen, wont unfreeze

Make sure the player is fully charged. 1. Connect the player to your computer. 2. Make sure the computer detects the player.
NOTE: If needed, switch the player to MSC mode, 1. Turn device OFF. 2. Slide the Hold switch down to Lock (orange color showing). 3. Press and hold the center button while connecting the device to the PC.then connect it to the PC. Next Be sure the battery is charged 1. Leave the player connected for approximately 2 hours to charge. 2. Disconnect the player from the PC. 3. Verify if you can turn on the player. 4. Reset the player if necessary.
To reset the player: 1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds. 2. Release the Power/Menu button. 3. Press the Power/Menu button again to turn on the player.
If that does not do it, re-seat the battery: Then try and see if it will come on with out the battery hooked to your computer, which I see you have done but did you change modes MSC to MTP . next delete the song it keeps hanging on and re-copy it back on to the player from a different folder or re-rip it from the CD and copy it into a new folder then re-copy to the player.

My Zen will not do anything,it's froze.

If a reset does not work using the reset hole, then try this: First, back up all of your music and do this: Turn off the player and disconnect it from the computer. Then press and hold the play/puse button and turn it on simultaneously. The player should be in recovery mode. Scroll down and select format (all) and let it format. Then reload all of music back onto your player and it should work like new. Hope this helps!

You could possibly try recovery mode?

or formatting it and starting over, see if that helps

easy way to format

1.Shutdown player
2.Hold Rec button
3.Turn player on
4.Plug your player into the PC
5.Go to My computer
6.Find a Icon named 16Mb Format
7.Open that and make a new text file
8.Name it sansa.fmt
9.unplug player and it will say Formatting.....
10.when its finished it will reset , or shut off, when its done turn it on and see if that helps

My mp3 player has froze

Maybe try taking the battery out and putting it back in, because once my mp3 player froze and that worked. It froze when I was going through menus when the song was playing still and it was probably too much...

My Sansa e250R, 2 gigs, froze. Help!

It seems like your E250R is experiencing a temporary system error due to a corrupted song, and needs to be reset. Try to "Soft Reset" your player, press and hold the "Menu" button until the LCD light and scroll wheel light turn off. Since the player was probably left on for more than 7 hours (as you indicated), you would need to re-charge the player before proceeding further. Charge it for at least 2-3 hours. Next, try to format the player to rid of any corruption then re-transfer the songs. If you have subscription songs, then I would suggest to delete the song you last played which caused the error. I hope this helps. There is another solution for the player, but for now this might actually resolve the issue. Let me know the results. :)
