Question about Sony SLV-678HF VHS VCR

1 Answer

On-Off Problem I actually have an SLV-620HF but this one is close enough, I thing, to diagnose the problem. I can't get the device to turn on completely. When you hit the power button, it comes on for one second, and off for one second constantly, until I pull the power cord in the back. Then it goes off completely. Obviously a reboot (by pulling the power cord) does not work. I need to know how to turn it on and MAKE IT STAY ON!!!

This is usually a power supply problem. The power supply is cycling due to damage or a problem on the syscon board

My tablet will not turn on after I restarted it.

Just guessing, however, I have found that I need to completely shut down electronics (remove all power sources, including those plugged into power and take a break). I am not sure but generally to actually shut down the power, you need to hold the power up button long enough to actually hear it shutdown.
after a break, begin restoring power to the tablet, the charger, any other related device. It might work.

A 2001 mecedes C-320 won't start but will turn over. Sometimes it wil start and run fine. I wonder if the battery is low and it does not get enough power to turn it over fast enough to start it.

You can see when the engine crank is the instrument cluster indicators light getting low light, if it's like that could be not enough battery, how ever you can try with jump other battery be careful don't mix up the battery connection it will dammed your car complete electronic system after jump the battery is the car crank fast but not start need to be check fuel presser and crank angle sensor it's can do by Mercedes diagnose tool get in to the authorized Mercedes workshop and plug diagnose computer in to the car and check the fault code that's the good way to do it otherwise you will spend money for unuseful be loose your money. if you get right diagnose it's will save your money.

Settings disappear

I suspect the internal backup battery is faulty inside the machine. Sometimes it can be an actual battery soldered to the circuit board otherwise look for a low voltage high capaticance capacitor - for example 3.5v 10F. If you dont know how to check for these things then find a competant technician. Good luck.

Sony SLV-775HF

Hi, Sounds like a mechanical problem in the tape path which can be anything from the pinch roller, take up spool, foreign object (such as splicing tape lodged somewhere), brake or others. An indicator would be stretch tape. One way to check if the tape is being stretch is to rewind partially one of the tapes you have tried, eject it and open the flap/cover of the cartridge. There is a stub on one of the side of the tape that you have to push to open it and see the actual tape. Stretching if any would be clearly visible. Am afraid that you would need the services of a qualified technician for the actual repair not unless you are familiar with video tape mechanism. On the video head, offhand, I doubt if it needs replacement.Of course an on site technician would be in a far better position to diagnose it for you. Hope this be of some help and pls post again how things turn up. Good luck and kind regards.
