Question about Fuji FinePix S5000 Digital Camera

Fujifilm s5000 I want to buy a new battery door. Is that possible?

The camera works great as long as I can tape down the battery door. I think a piece broke off, but its hard to tell. It is frustrating when try to take a picture and the tape doesn't hold the camera shut, then your camera turns off then you have to turn off the camera turn it back on then reset the date and time. It still closes but the end of it doesn't close all the way. There is a gap on the side. Does anyone know if you can get a new door for the camera?

I have the same problem, but it's the latch points on the body that held the door closed that broke. At first one broke, but over time, the batteries are so heavy the rest of the little plastic latches couldn't support the door. Any suggestions? Do I have to get a whole new body?

I have the same problem and after many different contraptions to try to keep it closed I simply used a ponytail holder. Just a simple brown hair elastic. (a large one) It has worked well for over a year now.

MY BATTERIES IN MY FUJIFILM S5000 RUN DOWN FAST?

Digital cameras for the most part should only be used with rechargeable NiMH batteries. These days many retailers sell these for around $7 for a package of four AA (about $15-19 for the batteries with charger). Keep in mind they'll save you big bucks in the long run over alkalines, AND they'll last for at least 100 pictures per charge (and probably many, many more). You'll be very pleased with their performance, and may slap yourself for not buying them sooner. When at the store, look on the package for a power rating of at least 2500 mah.

My view screen is white but I am able to view my pictures on my memory card

Most likely a dead CCD (imager) unit. Happens to these cameras. Usually they are supplied with the lens and are expensive if ordered from Fujifilm - could be about $200-300. I wouldn't recommend using used parts because they could break down again sooner or later. I suggest you buy a new camera.
I have worked for Fujifilm.

You could use a piece of velcro as a strap but I would start looking at ebay or other places for the parts to fix it. Sooner or later someone will sell it.

We have a Fuji S5000 digital camera we really like. However, lately it takes shots that are more like artwork with colors running down the page. I looked it up and it appears to be the image sensor. Where...

Hi!
Yes, it's the image sensor (CCD). For Fujifilm it usually comes together with lens and that makes it quite expensive - about 200$ here. I whink you should get a new one.

Fujifilm S1500 broken battery door

Yes, but you would most likely (don't quote me) have to send it back to the manufacture to get it fixed. That means $$$, is there a way for you to tape it on? You really only need the metal piece/plate touching the batteries.

Broken cover on a Fuji FinePix S5000

I think it will stay closed with painters tape or gaffer tape. this type of tape is blue or black. it is strong but not super sticky. I also have the same camera. my battery cover broke after the strap got stuck on a door handle to my office and the door kinda crunched it.

Send it to the Fujifilm camera repair center. The S5000 has a known issue with bad CCD sensors... Unless you want to do it yourself.

the problem might be inside. when cameras are dropped cable connections inside loosen. try to bring it to your local camera specialist and have it checked. if you open it yourself it might cause more damage.

Battery compartment door is ok but the teeth on the camera are broken. is this repairable?

You would have to replace the inner housing to replace the latches.

Fuji USA might have a fixed rate for this, here is the link to the support page for the S5000: FujiFilm
