Vauxhall Astra LPG, fault

Astra LPG (fitted when made, not a conversion )2004. Cuts out when warmed up. Have to wait 5-10 mins before it will restart. Engine management light is on. It has had all new sensors and been to 3 garages. Reading says code 335. Garage cannot find the problem. Some-one told me that there was a recall due to faulty brain, but I cannot find any info to back this up. So far have spent over £400.00, but car remains off the road. I am a taxi driver and cannot work. Please help. I am in despair.

We have a 2000 lpg factory koltec system and it misfired on gas only, it required a new distributor (osf wing by bulkhead) and cost £425!. Now goes like a dream on lpg and petrol alike.
These astras are common for egr faults also, but that causes irratic / high idle on petrol only normally.

Vauxhall astra 1.7 td heater not getting hot

Assuming the fan works ok, it sounds like the cable from hand control to heater valve has come off or needs adjusting or replacing. Or (less likely) there is a problem with the mechanical valve. The valve needs to open to allow hot water to flow through to the mini radiator (heater radiator) and then both coolant pipes and mini radiator get hot with a warm engine. Try moving the valve lever by hand (somewhere above the clutch pedal).and If you start getting heat with the fan on the fault is the cable..

Is there a recommended type of LPG kit for 2004 BA Futura? What are the potential issues with fitting LPG to this model?

All LPG kits are custom to vehicles they are being installed on. The possible problems are the same with all models. They include Leaks, lose of Mileage and the obvious dangers of filling the tanks when needed. I will tell you this much, it is unlikely you will save any money converting to LPG as most conversions get far less mileage than they do on regular fuel. Also, a Conversion kit is a full conversion. Once installed you are not going to have the option of switching between the two when the LPG system fails. You would think with the faster burn rate you would have better acceleration in LPG vehicle and better Mileage since the Typical LPG fuel is a higher burning and cleaner burning fuel but in reality it it usually just the opposite in conversions and they have a tendency to vapor lock more often.

My car wont start, 1997 vauxhall astra 1.7 turbo diesel

This sounds like a problem in the fuel shut off circuit. When you turn the key on, it energizes the fuel shut off solenoid on the injection pump. When you turn off the key, power is removed and the pump is moved by spring to the fuel off position. Check for power at this terminal when you are having a problem, ( with the key on) If no power then I would check the wiring and connectors from this connection to the Ignition key. I believe it is wired direct. That can be checked at http://www.alldata.com/products/index.jsp

subscribe3 and get a wiring schematic for the car and see if it is wired direct to the ign switch of from a relay, I am sure it is a connection problem if you have no power.

A 1.7 diesel even if turboed, is dead slow in any vehicle let alone a van. Enjoy the fuel economy

good luck

The fuse for the LPG has blown, you need to replace this, it's found in the fusebox under the bonnet.
