My Amana LWA50AW/PLWA50AW is agitating very slowly. I changed the belt, which was badly cracked all around with a few pieces missing. It still is agitating very slow. Everything else seems to be working...

The washer fills then just does nothing the timer runs out and it spins sometimes it runs through 2 or 3 cycles by itself its an amana lwa50aw

Possible failure of the timer switch or the controller unit. Need to replace .

Most likely it could be the forward belt . When the machine is under load you hear a winding noise it sounds like the pulley belt tensioner. One other thing to check the rinse and hold button is activated as in the past accidentally people have switched it off.

your belt is going bad replace belt.

OUT OF BALANCE ON SPIN CYCLE. model LWA50AW

Does the unit leak water or make a noise while spinning ? Its may be the triple seal bearing kit in the inner tub going out .With the model and serial numbers the warranty can be checked to see if the parts are under warranty.If the seal kit is going bad it takes about 3 or 4 hours to replace , some times it will damage the transmission as well. The unit has 9 springs under the tub to help keep it balanced . by removing the front panel you can run the washer to better see the problem.

I had the same issue last year on y lwa50aw. It is the timer. Get the speedqueen version it is about $50 -$80 and aboyt 15 minutes to replace.

Amana Washer LWA50AW doesn't spin

Ifi t does not spin it may be the timer. Try it in the delicate cycle to see what happens. Actually try all teh cycles to see if it spins in one of them. IF so it most likely is the time and is a 15minute job to replace.

The date of manufacture is actually determined by the SERIAL NUMBER on your appliance. If this is a Whirlpool, the following link explains how to determine how old the appliance is:

The 1st 2 NUMBERS in the serial number determine the week it was manufactured. Just count the weeks of the year on a calendar and this will tell you the MONTH.

The 2nd digit in the serial number determines the YEAR it was manufactured.

How can the first two numbers be the week, and the second number, which is part of the week, be the year? Does not make sense, and does not work.
