Question about Samsung HCL4715W 47" Rear Projection Television
One evening our HCL4715W suddenly had the nasty red lines, all curved, across the majority of the screen, and I am unable to converge manually. I called a local shop, recommended by my father-in-law, and was told it sounded like an "engine problem". The cost for the parts, I was told, would be between $1,200 - $1,400, with an additional $249 for labor.
From the initial research I'd done, I thought it sounded like a convergence circuit might have gone out. I'd love to get an opinion as to whether this sounds right or not. I'd sure hate to have to retire this television. I've loved it for the last 4 years or so. I'd greatly appreciate some solid advice from a Television Guru.
It sounds like a convergence problem to me also. The average cost to repair this TV is around $450.00-$500.00.
Call another service company that is factory authorized to service your TV. Also, try calling your manufacture and explaining your concerns and ask if will pay for repair or at least for the parts. Have model, serial numbers and purchase date at hand.
