I have a Magnavox 37MF32id137 we turned the tv off on the front went back about 25 min. later and it would not turn back on there is a dim green light flashing but has not turned back on in the last 24 hours 1. whats wrong and 2nd what kind of cost are we looking at. Phil

check the lamp first to see if intact or shattered.

Although a capacitor may look good, it may be weak or bad. Here is what you will have to do. Replace capacitor (location) 2074 which is a 25 volt 2200Mf at 105 degrees. Replace capacitor (location) 2081 which is a 35 volt 1200 Mf at 105 degrees. And you should change capacitor 2066 which is a 16 volt 10Mf at 105 degrees. Please be careful with the last cap mentioned. You can easily tear the PCB trace if you are not extremely careful. This should bring your TV back to life. TV has gone into "protect mode" to do just that to protect against the damaging failure that has been detected, you will need a servicer to diagnose the failure. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

unplug the tv, wait 5 mins plug it back in, and without using the remote, press the tv on button. see if its ok.

If those green lights on the board are going dim, then yes it should be repaired. This is likely a bad main filter capacitor on the primary side of the switch mode transformer. Should not cost over $150 at the most. Easy fix

Also changed swollen C2074 and C2081 and it now works perfectly! a bit daunting for a novice like myself but with a steady hand and decent 'put it back the way you took it apart' skills, all went well!

Setting the Sleep Timer The sleep timer allows your LCD TV to automatically turn OFF after a given amount of time. You can set the sleep timer using your remote control or through the onscreen display (OSD).
TO SET THE SLEEP TIMER USING THE REMOTE CONTROL
1. Press the SLEEP button on the remote control. The sleep timer appears at
the top of your screen.
2. Press the SLEEP button one or more times to select the time you want.
3. Press the EXIT button to hide the sleep timer display. Your sleep timer is now running in the background. The sleep timer will be hidden after 10 seconds.
Turning On the LCD TV.
1. Press the MAIN POWER switch in the back of the unit (see Back Connectors for location). The Status LED on the front turns orange
and your LCD TV is ready to turn on.
2. Press the POWER button on the front of your LCD TV or on your
remote control. The Status LED on the front turns green.

check your set. maybe you turned on SLEEP. it will automatically turn off.
