Question about IBM Webcam

Pls help me..

Good day!!! My camera is working good for ages. I just wonder that all of the sudden, the camera turns black when i am in yahoo messenger. I closed it and open the IBM PC camera icon as shortcut in the desktop and it says, the system cannot open file hr=0x80070004. please help me how to solve this problem.

Sounds like you may have lost the driver for the webcam. Probably have to de-install and then re-install. Suggest total removal of the original folder which means using Windows Explorer to do it. This to remove any left-over files that may contribute to bad re-install. Also if the cam is real old, it is possible that the cam itself has finally bit the dust, but before making that assumption, try the re-install.
Let me know what you find out.

Webcam problem


Go to Preferences of Yahoo Messenger and specify this webcam as your default camera. Then only will Yahoo look for it. And the webcam has to be installed before that. So,install the webcam and set it up as default in Yahoo Preferences and then use it in Yahoo.

generally the webcams need more light than the normal cameras try using a good light source to from behind the camera

also the lense on the camera if is moveable then try to rotate it a bit on both sides for a proper focus of the image

also if it comes with a software to capture the video or pictures from the camera try stopping it first then try connect to YM and you would be able to broadcast the video

may be your User Account Controls try turning off and reinstalling the software. and turn off anti virus then reinstall if on xp.

Won't turn on at all and the focus is stuck


Hi,

Black screen in Veo Digital Studio or Yahoo! Messenger.

Veo Digital Studio:

Start the Veo Digital Studio and then click on the "Take a Snapshot" button. The camera light should turn on.

Click the "Settings" button and then click the "Advanced Settings" button.

On the Video Quality screen, click the "Defaults" button to enable the default settings for the camera.

Click "OK" and then "OK" again. You should now see the live video on your screen.

If you still see a black image on the screen, try disabling the overlay feature to see if this resolves the issue:

Unplug the camera from the computer.

Start the Veo Digital Studio and then click on the "Take a Snapshot" button.

The Veo Digital Studio will indicate "Digital Video PC Camera is not connected to this computer." Click "OK" to this message.

Click the "Quick Fix" button and then check in the "Disable Overlay" checkbox. Click "Fix it" and then close out of the Veo Digital Studio.

Plug your camera back into the computer and then try the Veo Digital Studio again.

Yahoo! Messenger:

Make sure that your camera works and you can see yourself by following the steps above for the Veo Digital Studio.

Close the Veo Digital Studio and then start Yahoo! Messenger.

In Yahoo! Messenger, click on Tools->Start My Webcam.

If you see a black screen, in the My Webcam window, click on File->Preferences.
On the left side of the Prefences window, select Webcam.
Click on the "Camera Source" button. In the Camera Source drop down menu, select the Veo PC Camera or Veo Web Camera and then click OK.

Click on the "Camera Settings" button and then click the "Defaults" button.

Click "OK" and then "OK" again to close the Properties window.
If you still see a black screen in the My Webcam window, please contact Yahoo! for more assistance or refer to the Yahoo!
