When i start the washer it starts fine but about 5 mins in after it has half filled with water the digital screen reverts back to the original numbers and the machine pauses. I skipped through the cycle to drain and spin the clothes, i then tried a different program, it worked.
The next time i tried my machine the same fault occurred but no program full runs.

Re: Pause during cycle
Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Sounds like its syphoning out the water. If it was overfilling, you would have water everywhere, the machine would eventually flood. Check the drain hose. Make sure the end is higher than the water level in the machine and that there are no extensions running outside which have an end lower than the water level in the machine, it will start syphoning, usually after the first pump out.
The FH error code on your Kenmore Elite washing machine is an indicator
that there is a problem with incoming water. When there is little water
coming into the machine, the FH code will appear and the washer will
stop. There are a couple of common problems you can check while you are
resetting the FH error code. You will need to remove the power supply to
the washer to reset the code.
Look for the "Pause/Cancel" button on the washer control
panel. The button will be below the digital time clock and to the lower
right of the wash cycle selector.
Press the "Pause/Cancel" button twice to cancel the wash cycle. Unplug the Kenmore Elite washer from the wall outlet.
Check for kinks in the water supply hose while the washer
does not have power. Turn off the water supply spigots and remove the
hoses from the back of the washer. Check the port screens at the hose
connections for sediment buildup and clean as necessary.
Connect the water supply hoses back to the washer and turn on the water spigots. Plug the washer cord back into the wall outlet.
Select the wash cycle and press the "Start" button.
you nead to turn off both cold and hot water.next you nead to remove cold water hose from washer.remove screen and clean it and replace it.hookup cold water hose to washer and turn water back on.you should have better pressure.your rince cycle is cold water.
Turn timer to rinse cycle. let fill up and agitate. when it stops
agitating it should pause then start to pump water out. After about 2
minutes it should pause for 3-5 seconds then start again and spin. If
it starts the first time and never stops it will just continue to pump
but no spin. The 3-5 second pause allows the transmission to shift to
spin. If it does not do this the problem is your timer. You may need to
do this a few times to verify the problem.
If that is not the problem it is likely that you need a new clutch. You will need a technician to install a new clutch for you
1. Turn off the water supply to both hoses. 2. Remove hoses (one at a time so you don't get them confused) 3. On the washer side - look for a removeable screen inside where you just removed the hose. 4. Using a small screwdriver - pop out the screen and reverse-flush it/clean it. It will likely be full of sediment and calcium deposits from your pipes. 5. Replace the inlet screens. 6. Re-fit the hose to the machine. 7. Turn on water supply valves. 8. re-try.

Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle Unplug washer or disconnect power.
Check the following:
Are water faucets completely turned on? Are screens at inlet hose connection to washer clogged? Are water inlet hoses kinked?
Are water inlet hoses frozen?

most new washers have cold water only rinse and spray rinse ck cold water coming into machine during wash if no cold comes in suspect cold side of fill vale not opening ..could be wiring issue or a bad valve
Karen, start by removing the cold water hose to the inlet valve in back. It will have a screen in the inlet valve. Make sure the screen is clear of sand and debris. Start there and post back. Catriver.
