speakers are INPUTS and amp has OUTPUTS for speakers
if you have a 3.1 or 4.1 system it will not work as a surround anyway on stereo amp with 2 outputs you can connect two of them you like, and enjoy stereo but I think that surround systems have their amps anyway so maybe u could provide information about the speakers u are using?

Connect front the sub out (single) on the amp to one of the rca inputs on the sub, This will work reasonably well but to make the most from the sub buy a 2 rca to 1 rca cable and use it to connect both rca inputs on the sub to the single output on the amp

Hi, this is not really a problem. I have an Onkyo TX-SR604 receiver. I had polkaudio speakers RTi8 speakers that are no longer working properly. I am looking for recommendations for new speakers that can...

A receiver with the specs...

* "90 watts minimum continuous power per channel, 8 ohm loads, 2 channels driven from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with a maximum total harmonic distortion of 0.08%"

(*) The only acceptable statement of its power bandwidth in the manual.

... when fed an undistorted audio signal, used properly and not driven abto clipping is not particularly dangerous to any reputable speaker.

Driving any amplifier, even a modest one, into high distortion is more dangerous to any speaker than a high-powered amp pumping pure undistorted power.

Choose any speakers but low efficiency models if you want loud and clean sound.

Onkyo M-282

check your amplifier output speaker impedance requirements..
example: 8 ohms...build a speaker 8 ohms in parallel or series connection..
check the impedance using ohmeter ..you must reach the required impedance..

use 1 cell battery to check if you speakers are in-phase...if one speaker did not ..reverse connection and check again ...to give the good sound...hope you understand my english..:)

I have 1 center channel pre-out on back of my kenwood receiver. how do i hook it to the inputs on onkyo m-282 amp and then to center channel speaker?

Unfortunately can't connect it that way. The pre out is only meant to go directly into an amplifier that has all of the same inputs (front/rear, center and surround), not a standard receiver. (Pre amp to amp only, not pre amp to receiver) If your Onkyo doesn't have all the same inputs as your Kenwood preamp has outputs you will just use your standard left/right outputs from the Kenwood to your Onkyo input (CD, Tape, Phono,DVD etc) then use the outputs (front/rear, center and surround) from your Onkyo receiver and connect directly to your speakers..

Having problems with the installation of the brutus 2008d amp in my truck. how many channels is it? how do i connect the subs? do i connect the rca cables from the radio to the input or output.

The rca cables from your stereo go to the "input" part of the amp. Now, if there are four speaker connections in your amp, then it's a 2 channel. If you have eight speaker connections then you have a four channel amp. Note, some amps can be briged to provide more power to the speakers. On a two way amp(2 speakers), the connections can be briged to only one speker providing more power, usually whatever the amp power rating is, say a 500watt amp will put all 500 watts to that speaker. The same goes for a four way amp(4speakers), can be bridged to two speakers(250watts per speaker). Hope this helps.

No audio sound from HDMI connection from TV to Onkyo 606 amp.

you have the output of the receiver going to the input of the TV?

i believe that you should be running the TV output to the receiver input to get your sound from the TV to the receiver and thus speakers.

the easiest setup is to just run your cable box and DVD player HDMI's into your TV inputs. then run another HDMI from the TV output to the receiver input.

Very low ouput from subwoofer preout

The problem was that some subwoofers (inluding my velodyne model) cannot process the LFE signals through the line level inputs on its amps, so the other way to run your subwoofer is to run the front left and right speaker outputs from your receiver to the speaker-level inputs on your sub, and then plug your front and left speakers into the soeaker level outputs on the sub. you have to set the onkyo receiver to "Subwoofer: No". that way the LFE signals are sent through the front speaker channels and you will get the same BASS output as if using the line-level input. O So yes it does require a bit more speaker cable, but it works fine now.
