Can't copy video from camera to DVD

We are having problems when trying to copy video from the camera to a PC-XP- msg "USB connection failed, the camera is not set up properly". The USB driver we installed using the supplied Panasonic disc is asking to set the camera as a "web camera". We are using the ULEAD software.
Could be we need to install a different driver.
Pls help.

Hi,my camera is Panasonic mod.PV-GS70. I am trying to copy VIDEO, not stills, from the camera tape to a DVD. I installed USB driver using the Panasonic supplied disc VFF0193-1.I am trying the ULEAD software, however it recognizes the camera as a WEB camera and if I switch on the Menu to WEB mode, it actualy works as a WEB camera, but it doesn't work in VCR mode, and it is constantly asking me to switch to WEB mode. I hope I made myself clear. Thank you for your help. Zdenek.

Nope..there's a button on the camera, that selects that function, either on the touchscreen in the menu, or on a menu selection button on side. is you supply the model number, we can isolate that option.

I have a Panasonic VDR-M50PP DVD camcorder.About 5 years old. I have about 10 disks that needed to be converted / downloaded on to a PC or a DVD but am having a problem trying to understand how....

It is usual for camcorders to be set up to only transfer videos when mails powered. This it to prevent corruption of either the source files or the copies should there be an interruption in the power supply, such as a battery failing.

How do i transfer video files onto my windows xp

If you have a CD/DVD on which the camera's setup files are located, put it in your PC and run SETUP. When it tells you to connect the Camera to the computer via USB cable, do it.

If you don't have the CD/DVD, then go to their web site and download the necessary software, and do the same thing. Again, when instructed to do so, connect the camera.

Once that connection is made, you will find that copying the photos from your camera to your computer is actually quite easy.

Good luck.

Describe your Sony BRAND DCR-DVD 602E " PAL " Camcorder Problem - How do you connect the camera to PC. I only have an AV cable with my camera? Can I purchase a USB cable, and where will it...

if you want to connect it a PC you need a video capture device to make use of the s-video and the sound but the video quality is limited to s-video only unless you want to make it as a webcam sort-of. If you want store the video in a computer you can copy the DVD content of the CD into your computer's hard disk.

Make sure you are connecting directly to the computer's USB port, not through a hub. Try disconnecting other USB devices before plugging in the camera. Check the manufacturer's website for updaded drivers: if all else fails, a reinstall of the camera's drivers may be in order.

My Hitachi VM H710A plays just fine, and the picture looks fine. But when it playsback footage or records footage, five to ten seconds later, it stops abruptly, and flashes the word "TAPE". First thing I must add, is that I was using a prerecorded videotape, and was testing it from the beginning of the cassette and the middle of the cassette. I thought maybe the heads were dirty, and so I cleaned them using a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. I cleaned the head drum with a piece of paper soaked with rubbing alcohol so that I wouldn't get any fibres in the heads. I waited for it to dry and then I put a cleaning cassette inside. To which, it still stopped abruptly five to ten seconds in during playback. I then decided to look at the manual of the camcorder and see the symptom. It says that due to temperature changes that it might cause this symptom. I placed it in a cool room and left it there all day and checked on it, and the camcorder is still doing the same thing as before hand. Then another cause said that it might sense some moisture. I made sure that the camcorder was dry externally and internally, and yet still, same problem. Thats when I decided to take it apart and look inside to see if there was anything odd inside the camcorder causing it to function the way it does. The belt seemed to be working fine, and there was no missing parts. The tracking poles and path alignment was fine, and not loose. Everything simply seemed just fine. So I am unsure as to why my camcorder is operating like this.
