too many times by accident, the mute box gets ticked, as my mate found out in pc volume, not the realtek driver...the realtek i7 in mine allows me to swap the outputs from sub to centre and front to rear, and will ask upon pluggin in which channel you wish to use

No sound whatsoever

Depending on the Windows version you have, you can try a few things, but start by checking the Device Manager to see if the sound device is installed and working.

Sound driver problem in LG GS50-6EA2 laptop. OS:-Windows XP SP2

Dear Sshal88

In order to let your sound device work again You have to follow the below instruction:

Start - Right click on My Computer - Properties
You will see many tabs, You have to Click on "Hardware"
Now, Click "Device Manager"

You are in the Device Manager and you see a full list now, go down to find "Sound, video and game controllers" - on the one that mentions the yellow mark, right click and hit uninstall.

Now that the device is uninstalled successfully, you have to click up on the right hand "Scan for Hardware Changes", it will re-install the sound device automatically. You will see on the tray bar on your right hand-down, Your software is installed and ready for use.

Restart your computer, and here we go, it works :)

Have cd13v75201004 sound card but canot cat sound from my computer orion computer

check device manager. This can be done in Win XP by right clicking my computer, properties, hardware, then click device manager. Alternative way to enter device manager is by clicking start menu, control panel, system (performance and maintenance), hardware then device manager.

In the deice manager window see if any question marks or exclamation points are visible.

If so, see if it the mark is for an audio device.

If it is an audio device, uninstall the device.

Next, try to install the sound card driver again. If that fails, the enter the device manager and uninstall the sound card again, restart the PC, ignore the hardware manager, and try to install the sound card driver software again.

I would update the sound card driver anyway just in case. Drivers can get corrupt. Just happens.

Hope this works.

Sound Not Working (discrete sound card)
You probably need to make sure the new sound card is properly installed. Check device manager and make sure the new sound card does not have a yellow exclamation mark next to it.

If the card and driver are propery installed, then you can either disable the onboard audio from BIOS (enter this when the computer first boots up by pressing either F2 or delete several times)

Or
go to control panel, sound, and check the sound card as the default. Do this for .WAV and .MIDI and whatever else you see.

And that should take care of it.

No Sound (integrated Sound card)
check device manager.

No sound driver working on my gateway notebook pc

Did you check the Device Manager, the audio driver, has it a yellow ? against it or is it OK and enabled? If it is has the MUTE button been ticked?
If it has a yellow ? against the audio driver then the correct audio driver was not installed. Go to the Gateway Support/download page to download the correct XP driver for your model laptop's audio device and install it.
If the sound still doesn't work check Device Manager to see if the driver was installed and working.

Sound drive is not installed or not working properly

Click Start > Settings (classic menu) or directly to > Control Panel > System,

Click the Hardware tab at the top. Click Device Manager and find the category "Sound, video and game controllers".

Click the plus sign and see if there is an Audio controller listed or anything with a yellow highlighted exclamation point in front or a red X.

Click any item mentioned in the previous paragraph and hit the delete key on your keyboard. Click Okay or yes to removing the device. Remove all items one by one that meet the criteria in the previous paragraph.

Click okay to close out of Device manager then reboot the computer.

If Device manager has no audio devices listed at all, and you are sure you actually have an audio connection on the back of your computer (sound card or integrated sound), then it is likely the sound card or circuitry has failed.

Let me know if this works or if you have additional information/questions for me.
