Probably has corrupt driver.
Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall
the CD or Downloaded software program. When the program asks you
to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.

The Image sensing IC called CCD may be defective. We can supply this. The images may be fuzzy with random colors and noises of varying degree and at times Ok.also.
This can be a defective CCD which senses the images. Random moving lines and color patches are the symptoms. We can provide this in 3 to 4 weeks from Sony.
