DVD/CD RAM Devices

My Toshiba Satellite M115-S3094 with Microsoft XP system software, after reinstalling the system software, the DVD/CD RAM Devices can not play CD and VCD, and can not burn a disc, but can play DVD.

When play the CD, the screen shows "insert a disc" and play VCD shows " " Dis not accessible The request could not be performed because of I/O error"。 When you burn a disc, the machine asks you "Insert a disc"

Please let me know how to re-set up the windows to make the machine can play CD, VCD, DVD and burn disc.

When you reformat the hard drive you need to go to the Toshiba website to get the drivers for your dvd or cd drive. I have notice also that you need http://www.codecguide.com/download_mega.htm

Also do a search for xp burner software. This is a software that allows you to burn again. It works.

Please rate.

Check with the package if the cd-rom requires any drivers. also check with the disc and compatibility of the player. at times the compatibility will be an issue. if nothing works try installing nero or other softwares as bamma boy said.
with my experience i wud never suggest that you use the service pack3 now. wait for a couple of months and then use. not all softwares run properly with the service pack3. there are many flaws with the upgrade. so wait till the other software companies and ms fix the issues. u can also read the issues of sp3 in the following website. www.windowssecrets.com

No operating system how do I insert the missing operating system

You can not inset operating system like CD/DVD inserting! It is special kind of software that runs your computer to make an environment for you to work. First you need a Boot able Operating system cd/dvd.
This laptop normally comes with Microsoft Windows xp Media Center Edition. You may choose professional.
Now insert this disk into your laptop, boot form cd/ dvd, and start installing...After finishing installation properly , you can remove disk from your laptop and your operating system will be inside of your laptop.
If you are new you can not do this things along, Try to read manual of your laptop to select boot device to boot from cd/dvd and learn how to setup windows or other operating system you want. Let me know updates.

My Toshiba Satellite M115 S3094 is asking for a BIOS password after I reinstall the Windows XP. I Cant' access any folder of BIOS system or the Windows. Please, help me! I'm from Brazil, and Toshiba...

This happened to my Sister's Toshiba laptop, it's just coincidence that it happened to you when reinstalling Windows. The only solution is to short out the CMOS battery on the motherboard. Doing this will probably void your warranty, so I cannot detail how it's done, however google is a great resource. I warn you though, shorting the wrong things on a motherboard can permanently ruin your laptop.

Most operating systems from XP onwards will write to a CD-RW drive without ANY third party softwre. Forget Nero and try selecting and "drag and drop the pics in Explorer.

My Toshiba Satellite M115 S3094 will not boot. It

If its not booting at all then you should understand that it may be because of any of these reasons :

  • Faulty mother-board or any module of it. You will need to replair it by any technician & its a difficult & costly task.
  • Another reason is due to damaged RAM and its most probable also. In that case you can just simply replace your RAM with a new one and its not so costly also.A better RAM will enhance your system's performance too.

If this solution was helpful to you then please rate 100% (or FIXYA) for this solution, otherwise don't rate at all. It was my pleasure helping you.
