Question about Pine Technology XFX NFORCE LT 680I SLI (MB-N680-ILT9) Motherboard

Computer does not boot (new Machine)

New (actually the 2nd) I returned the first one XFX Nforce 680 LT. I bought 2 and 1 wirked fine. Both machine have the same brand of memory and Intel 8400s. One of these boxes never posts at boot time, no beeps, nothing. I have swapped the mem, video card but not the CPU. Not interested in going through the hassle of dealing with the crappy CPU fan and I do not want risk breaking the MB. I am using the Intel stock fan. Any ideals as to how I can get this box to boot? Otherwise I am going to exchange the CPU. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the advise. I did find the solution. I took this new box to a local computer shop, I know this guy... so I asked to install/barrow a lower end CPU. Prior to this I downloaded and created an ISO CD of version P07 BIOS from the support website. The Machine booted up with the lower end socket 775 CPU and I was able to FLASH the BIOS. It turns out that the Intel Dual core E8400 is very new and the XFX motherboard will not work unless version P07 BIOS is installed. Flashed the board, Installed my E8400 and now this Machine ROCKS!!!! I feel bad that I RMA'd the first one now. My suggestion.... FLASH your boards first, unfortunately, I did not have another 775 CPU laying around so I got by with giving the guy at the computer shop $40 for using his bench and Processor.

ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe NForce 2 Ultra 400 Motherboard (90M7A770GOUAYOZ) When I built my PC in '05 I installed 4 HDD's on the A7N8X-E Deluxe. Now my main drive is failing so I've cloned it to a new HDD, but...

hi Memory,

You can try 2 things:

1. If the HDD has jumpers make sure to set the one you want to boot from as the master.

2. Go into your BIOS and choose which device to boot from first.

Also just to be sure disable all other drives and boot with the single drive to ensure that it actually works. There are bootdisks that can help with booting issues one being called ultimate boot cd but i wouldn't touch settings unless you know what your doing.

Hope this helps,

Omeil

My computer will automatically shut its self off. When power flow is present, computer turned off or on, there is a red LED at the bottom left corner that is always on. I have a XFX nForce 750i SLI...

You either have a Hard drive that is busy packing up or your processor is running too hot or the memory chips are busy packing up. You can start by checking the THERMAL paste of the processor and the cooler fan of the processor. Inside the CMOS setuip you should be able to see what temperature your processor is running. It should be more or less be between 30 and and maximum of 50 degrees celcius

Proper jumper & BIOS settings for XFX 750aSLI nForce motherboard

You will have to access the BIOS and disable the onboard graphics from there. Before you install your new card, boot the computer. As it is performing the POST, enter the BIOS (usually delete or F2 gets you in.) Once you have disabled the on board graphics, save your settings and exit. Then install your new card and attempt to boot the computer. If it will not boot, locate the CMOS jumper and activate it to reset back to default settings.

A7N8X-E Deluxe Nforce2 will not POST

I had the same issue a while back. You need to reinstall windows on the new PC. Your motherboard is expecting to see a certain hard drive that has the windows boot sector on it. If it doesn't see that exact hard drive the computer will never boot... so quick fix, just reinstall windows and everything should work fine.
