Not a good problem, Polaroid units have a control box that contains the main bd, power supply and av bd. When the unit fails you must replace the entire control box as you cannot buy individual parts for this unit. Try the Vance Baldwin or Andrews electronic site for part information.

Want to use TV as monitor for laptop

There is no way to hook the TV to the laptop. You can hook the laptop to the TV but not the other way around. It is done with a VGA monitor cord. The same one that you connect to your regular monitor. Your TV will have a plug labeled VGA.

Hi we just bought a Sanyo LCD42K30, Im trying to connect it to my laptop vi VGA but it wont work, it says no signal. Please help

Try the following procedure:

Turn off your TV and your laptop.
Connect the VGA cable from the VGA output of the laptop to the VGA input of the TV.
Now turn on your TV.
Then select VGA on your TV's onscreen INPUT MODE SELECTOR.
Now turn on your laptop.

The laptop should now automatically detect the TV and display the video signal onto that screen.

If the laptop display is still appearing on the laptop's built in screen, then just wait for the machine to finish booting up completely and then you can try using the FUNCTION keys on the laptop keyboard to switch the display to the external monitor (TV).

Now try holding down the FUNCTION (Fn) key on the laptop keyboard and then push the F5 key at the same time.
If this combination does not work, look at the numbered F keys at the top of the keyboard for one that has a figure of a monitor on it. Then hold down the FUNCTION key and press that F# key.

The exact key combination for switching between the external and built in monitors is different for each model of laptop, so if you still have trouble, try looking in your laptop's owner's manual for the precise instructions for that model. Otherwise just comment back here with your laptop's brand and model number and I will look up the procedure for you.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any details to add, have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck and take care.

If your computer has an HDMI socket, all you need is an HDMI cable. If not you need a VGA cable (the blue cable that usually connects a computer to it's monitor. One end goes into the socket on your TV marked VGA or PC. the other end goes into the monitor output on your computer. if you have a laptop, there will be a vga socket (usually blue inlay in the socket) on the side or back. you will then need to set up the second screen in Control panel, display settings. If using the VGA cable, you will need to run an audio cable from the speaker/headphone socket of your computer to your tv (there will be a 3.5mm jack near the VGA socket) or to your audio receiver.
Good luck.

How do u hook up my lab top to the tv.Tv is hdemi and lab top is vga what can i do

hi, you can do this but dont try the cheap vga to hdmi cable it simply wont work. analog to digital conversion can be tricky so your best bet is a converter like this one...
if you are not happy with quality you might try changing the video card in the laptop to one with a hdmi output, that will give you much picture quality!
good luck!!!

Can i hook my computer to tv ?

You can connect your Sylvania LC320ss8 to a computer. There is a socket at the back of your TV to connect it with a PC via VGA cable. One end of that cable must be connected to TV, and the other end of the VGA cable must be connected to PC's monitor out jack.. You have to purchase on VGA cable for this purpose, and is available at most of the electronic spare part shops. A "mini-plug audio cable" also is needed to connect the audio from PC to TV. Its one end to be connected to PCs Audio Line Out jack and its other end to TVs PC in audio jack. Both Jacks can be located at the back side of the TV. After connecting it select the TV to receive PC signals according to its manual says. OK.

Im trying to connect my laptop/pc with lg lcd 36 inch tv with vga cable, but its nt working......please help me out.

Assuming that the LCD TV accepts a computer, what resolution is it set to and what is the maximum resolution of the TV. They must equal.
Have you pressed the correct function button on your laptop to turn the VGA output socket on?
Check your laptop manual for instruction on the last item
Hope that helps.
