Question about Compex NetPassage 27G Wireless Router (NP27G)

Problem with power

My router "COMPEX NETPASSAGE 27G" is not working properly. after power failure, it did not work. i have to manually unpluged the power and then start again to work. what is the problem? please suggest me. thank you.

Since I don't know the exact circumstances of your power loss, here what I am guessing based on that you wrote.

This may be because the power does not come back cleanly after the power failure. Unfortunately, there is nothing much you can do about it. Since your router does work correctly after you manually reset it, the power supply seems to be fine.

If you have many power failures and find this situation to be annoying, you should look to buy a UPS (Uninterrupted power supply). This kind of devices have a battery that will ensure a clean power output when running, powering up and shutting down. It will protect you from interruptions and voltage fluctuation. You may also benefit from connecting you computer to a UPS because it will keep it running for a couple of minutes after a power failure to allow you to save your work and may also shut it down cleanly automaticaly.

First unplug the power from the router.
Next there should be a small reset button maybe in the back.Hold it in for 1 min.

Plug router back in.

Once your back running open your browser and type.
hit enter.

Then you will use admin as username and the word password as the password.

once in the router go to the security page and change the username,write it down somewhere.

Router will reboot once your done.

Picked up a Compex NetPassage 27G at a yard sale and cant access it. Does it have a default username and password?


start by trying these:

Default IP for all Compex's Routers/ APs/ Client Adapters: Default IP for all Compex's Modems: Default IP for all Compex's Switches: Default Password for all Compex's products: Password Default User ID for Compex's modem: Admin
alternatively most router will have a reset button that's usually behind a little hole in the back or at the bottom of the unit. inspect the device carefully and introduce something sharp (that won't break) through that hole while the unit is powered and press for 30 to 60 seconds, this is usually how devices are brought back to factory defaults. if this does not work it's like the device is defective and you may want to get your money back!

Install CD of compex NetPassage 26G is lost, what can I do to install without CD? Many thanks in advance for your expertise :)

This router is at least 5 years old, and it does not support the more-secure WPA protocol. On that basis, I would "trash" it.

I checked the COMPEX web-site:

and there is no mention of the '26G', although the '27G' is listed as a "legacy" product.

So, spare yourself a lot of wasted time -- go to the nearest "Boxing Day/Week" big-box store, and buy a new router, with new features, like 'Wireless N' and 'WPA2' support, and install it.

Need to re-setup my router. the router lost connection a few times. solved by power disconnect. now does not connect at all. type COMPEX NetPassage 27G Wireless-G 54 Mbps Extended Range.

Try to hard reset the router by pressing the reset button at the back of it. Hold it down for 30 seconds then unplug the power for 30 seconds. Reconfigure it
