the port that you plug the power adapter into is probably bad. common problem with laptops/notebooks. if you do a Google search on the subject you will find many companies that will repair this port. you may have a computer shop in your area that can do it.

2 months ago ive bought new charger...cause there was a fault with my previous one. It might also be a socket on laptop, so ive fixed both of it!but in the recent time, something went wrong...my charger...

Turn everything off. Take off the battery. Connect the ac adapter and turn on your computer. If it works with the ac adapter connected and your battery off then you have a defective battery.

If it does not work then it's either your ac adapter or your dc jack inside your computer. Try a different ac adapter at the store you bought the battery and you'll know if your adapter is bad. If it works with another adapter then exchange the adapter again (I know, I know, I've been there). If it does not work with another adapter then you're back to the dc jack but at least you'll know for sure.

Make sure that whoever is replacing the dc jack is good at soldering and replaces it not just solders the same one back on. Don't forget the shield to the dc jack. Good luck!

My laptop shut down on me and the problem is it will not turn on no more it will start up and then cut right back off my friend say it might b something wrong with the mother board

Do the following:

1. Disconnect the ac adapter.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Find the reset button and reset your laptop. It should be located on the bottom part of your computer and marked "reset". Take a tiny screwdriver, a thumbtack pin, a paper clip, or any similiar object and push on the reset pin.

4. Plug in your ac adapter (without the battery) and try it. If it works, go ahead and reinstall your battery and try it with the ac adapter on.

5. If it turns on with the ac adapter connected and the battery installed then you're good to go. If it doesn't then it's your battery.

6. If it does not turn on with your battery removed and the ac adapter connected then it's either the ac adapter or the dc jack.

7. You can test the ac adapter at your local pc shop or electronics store. You can purchase an ac adapter at one of these shops or order it online.

8. If it does not work with another ac adapter then it's more than likely your "dc jack" and that takes alot of work. The dc jack itself is relatively inexpensive ($6 to $30) depending on where you purchase it. The fun part comes in replacing it. You can do it yourself if you're good at soldering or you can get it done at your local pc shop or if you can take your laptop apart and put it back together then any local tv shop can do the soldering for you.

9. Have fun, Good luck, and let me know the outcome.

My computer does not turn on when i press the power button my computer is plugged into wall outlet and the plug icon. the power icon and the battery icon r all green but the hard disk drive light is not...

Try this. Take the battery off and connect the ac adapter and try to turn it on. If it works then it's your battery. If it doesn't than it's either the ac adapter or your dc jack. Try an ac adapter from an electronics or pc shop. If it works your in good shape. If it doesn't then it might be your dc jack. The jack itself is really inexepnsive and you can get a local tv shop to solder it for you if you can't do it. It's also cheaper if you take the computer apart yourself and put it back together after the shop does their part. Good luck!

Notebook won't power on

Take the battery off and try to turn it on with just the power cord. If it works then it's your battery. If it doesn't then it's either your ac adapter or your dc jack. Try an ac adapter from a local pc shop or electronics shop. AC adapters run around 40 dollars or less if you order them online. DC jacks are a different story. I the jack needs to be replaced you'll have to take it to a pc shop or if you can do it yourself then order a dc jack online or purchase it online and take the computer apart replace the dc jack (you'll have to desolder the old one and solder the new one one). Good luck!

Hi in my laptop charging shows that pluged in,not charging what can i do

Is the computer working at all? If it is then it's probably your battery. You can order one on ebay. If it is not working at all then try a known good ac adapter. If it works then replace your ac adapter. You can order it on ebay also. If it still does not work, then more than likely it is your dc jack. Order it, remove and replace it or have someone do it for you. A computer repair shop will do it. If you can take the laptop apart and put it back together then all you have to do is solder the new dc jack or have a local pc or tv shop do the soldering for you. Good Luck!

Ac adapter connection inside laptop doesnt work, light for battery charging will not turn on and will not charge

You adapter may be faulty, check it with a multi-meter, the voltage reading for a functioning adapter should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the adapter.
If you do not get a voltage reading then the adapter is faulty and you need to get a replacement adapter.
If you get a reliable voltage reading at the adapter plug, then connect it into the laptop and wriggle this plug. If the charge LED blinks. then the power connector on the laptop is loose/faulty and needs repairing.
