My remote control currently doesn't work. When I turn my TV on manually I find that Channels 2 and 3 are missing from the line up. The Auto Demo comes on and goes through the entire menu also and I can't stop it. I have
Brighthouse Cable in St. Petersburg, Florida. Please tell me how to fix these problems.
I cleaned a terminal inside my remote. It worked. I simply pushed 2, then Enter,
3, then Enter. I clicked Menu, scrolled down to Auto Demo, clicked arrow pointing right, and then entered "Off". Everything is solved.

Let's try to sort this out. You have a universal remote control which you want to use with your RCA TV. You turn on the TV, press and release the TV button on your remote, and enter an RCA TV code. You then press the ON-OFF (or POWER) button and the TV turns off. If not, you repeat the process with other codes until you find one that turns the TV off. If you are successful, you should be able to turn on the TV and channel up or down through all available channels in your area. If I am missing something, post a reply
The 202 error is usually associated with a bad cable card. In your case, you need to check and see if you have one.
Did you run the Autoprogramming required to load and store the Channels?
If you are attempting to Add digital cable to your TV lineup, you must do that.
one note -- the digital stations on your TV set will not match the
lineup on the Cable box. The box was designed to line up the TV
stations according to the guide, but it uses proprietary programming
software and hardware to do that.
TV's cannot use the
software. so you end up with the low to high frequency channels in your
lineup, but it's not similar to the cable channel's lineup.
Try finding USA or TNT lickety-split....you won't.
doing the full autoprogramming, let me know if you get only the Analog
Channels from your Cable provider, or if you get NO channels locking in
at all. Either one will likely require replacing the Digital tuner
If the remote sensor cover is missing on the TV, the remote would still work but you may get other effects like the TV changing channels on it own. This is due to stray infra red signals. If it's not working at all I would suspect the remote control handset. You can test it by pointing it at a digital camera lens and watching the display screen on the camera. You should see white light comming from the remote when you press any of the buttons if it's working. Digital cameras can see infrared.
Try to tune the tv in manual search method. If you get means store it manually. Nothing to worry. This is due to malfunction in AUTOMATIC FREQUENCY CONTROL COIL weak. Even you won"t get channels in manual tunning method. Change tuner and afc coil. Problem solved.
