Re: No Picture, but I get sound
Look on the AC IN pwb (power supply bd) on the left side of the unit as you look in the back. There are 4 1000uf caps that need to be change on this bd. They are tall caps and two are side by side near the bottom of the bd toward the front of module, and the other 2 are side by side slightly above the first 2. Most of the time 2 of more of these caps are pooched or the tops are raising up. Replace all 4 no matter how they look.

The color wheel can make a whinning sound for sure, However it should not continue to whine after shutting it off. That sounds more like the fan used to cool the lamp, as that will continue to run after the set is shut off. How soon does the whinning start when you push power? Let me know I should be able to help you out. DLPs are my specialty
My HD50LPW62AYX2 RCA TV sometimes reverses the blue and reds. The peoples faces are blue, especially the lips.
Sometimes turning the TV off and then back on again fixes the problem. At other times this correction is good for only a second or two.
Do you have an English owner's manual available on line or otherwise available?
