Samsung HL-R5067W no picture or sound.

Had the reboot problem 3 months ago, set would warm up, shut on and off until i pulled the plug. Tech dispatched by Samsung replaced the digital board, lamp and DMD. Set worked for 3 months. Now set will turn on, no picture or sound, lamp light blinks and then set shuts off. Took off the bulb panel and held in trip switch, tried to power and got same result, but bulb seems to be getting plenty bright. Ideas?

I have the same problem on my HL-R5067WAA/XAA model less than 2 years old.It has never been worked on.I tried the procedure of mute-1-8-2 on the remote control with no success.

After being on for a while, then turned off, it will not turn right back on until it has cooled off for a couple hours. After trying to turn on with the remote, it will start to go through the sequence of turning on, the tones will sound, the lights flash, then a high pitched whine will come on, go off, never getting a screen picture, and then it will go back through the same routine until all lights are on, unable to turn on. It appears to be a heat related problem to me. It has to cool off for a long time to enable it to work. Otherwise the picture and sound is excellent. Bill Teal

Samsung HL-R5067W power cycles on its own. Replaced bulb, no change. Beep sounds, image comes up, 12 seconds later image freezes and TV power cycles. I can control the TV when it the image is live via the remote.

When I power the unit on I get no audio, video or audible chime. I here a clicking and the Lamp Led blinks. I have no control with the remote and can't even shut the t.v down. After about a minute the tv powers itself off and the temp LED illuminates.

I was watching tv then heard a loud crashing or smashing sound, then the tv went black. Now there is no picture and the lamp light on the front of the tv keep blinking.

Sounds like your color wheel is busted...

This was not an expensive part nor too much of a complicated process on my hl-r5067w (see here: http://mistermarbles.blogspot.com/2008/04/replacing-color-wheel-for-samsung-hl.html), but you'll need to figure out part source and process differences on yours.

Good luck!

Check if it has a scrambled image on all sources ie - DVD- VCR - cable/satellite box. Since the PIP is normal it sounds like the signal source is bad.

Samsung DLP HL-R5067W A/V Ports Don't Work

Since I cannot troubleshoot the set I do know that the Analog bd or the Digital bd or both are bad. Since you had a power outage I really suggest replaceing both parts. You can purchase both parts and install one part at a time until you fix the problem if you feel confident enough to do it your self. If you use one part only then return the unsed part for a refund. Other wise you need a trained Samsung tech to test both parts. There are two Digital bds for this model. Digital bd part#s are BP94-01859F AND BP94-02084A. The Analog bd is a BP94-02049E. The only to tell which Digital bd you have is to remove the rear cover and look at the big shiny silver bd on the left side of the set on the bottom. You might have to remove both the Digital and Analog bd in the metal cage they are in to get the part number. But look for the number on the front of the Digital bd first before removing.

noise you are hearing can be the fans inside with bad bearings and or what im assuming given the info you gave.More likely the motor inside the optics engine (color wheel) is making noise..This will also cause picture problems..very expensive to repair..

Samsung HL-R5067W "Powering Down"

the hlr series had a few problem with intermittent turning off. one was the lamp door cover switch, the other was the thermostat.. neither one is very costly and a good tech should be able to replace bothe parts at the same time..
