Underneath your satellite there should be either a spring loaded lock to unlock/release the drive, or there could be a panel to remove that will expose a single screw that holds your optical drive in place. Releasing the drive with whichever locking mechanism is securing it should allow you to remove and install the new drive (if it's a screw, don't forget to replace it after the new drive is installed).
I hope this helps, and Good Luck.

Runs very slow... hard disk constantly running

You need to defrag your drive, make sure no unnecessary resources are running in the background and delete your temp folder as this fills with allsorts of rubbish you do not need and slows the operating system significantly.

Remove the disk-drive from the laptop, and connect it to another computer.
Copy all the files from the recovery-media onto the disk-drive.
Reinstall the disk-drive into your laptop.
Run the recovery software from where you copied the files onto the disk-drive.

Go to the BIOS screen....F2 at the splash screen. See if the new dvd drive is showing up in the BIOS and what interface is it listed under. It may be listed under an interface that has not been anable in the BIOS, highlight the device or interface, hit enable and then hit F10 to save and reboot.
