Question about Moyer Diebel 48 in. SW400 Dishwasher

Moyer Diebel Model 201LT heating element failures

I've replaced 3 tank heating elements in my machine in 10 months. The elements have a number of tiny pits and then one breaks thru to the interior
and produces an inch long crack when it shorts out. I'm using Eco Lab products. Eco clean Elite Low temp for cleaning agent and Ultra San, Low Temp Sanitizer. The last Tech measured the chemicals and said the proportion was in the low range for soap & sanitizer use.

Without looking at your defective elements it sound like the chemical eat through the element and produce tiny pits tell your Eco Lab Tech to change to another type of chemical they have many kinds to suit your need. Try that . God Bless.

Hello there
The 500HT machine is very old one. Turn off the power first. To get to the elements you have to get the control box off first so you can get to take off the elements cover , now you can see the elements.
If the system have been wired wrong and short circuit it. the temperature control may have to be change too. I would change the two elements and the temperature control and the hi ltd control all together at the same time so you know that system have no problem anymore. All the best Dickson

Hello Huekycanada

You have to check the booster element what amp they are drawing there are three elements if only two are working it will still goes up to 72C may be it need longer time to get there. Secondly I would check the in coming water from your hot water tank it should be 60C at the machine , To check this incoming water temperature the best way is checking the temp. at the sink nearest to the dishwasher. 9 out of 10 I do find this is the main cause of the problem ( the in coming water temp is too low)

All the best, Dickson

Our dishwasher isn't cleaning very well, and I noticed that there looks like a scaley build-up on the heat element and looks like the holes are plugged on the washing arm. Is there anything that we can...

you can use any kind of calicium lime and scale remover to help clean the dishwasher, there are also several kinds of dishwasher cleaner that can be bought from most any store around. it may take a couple of times for this to work and clean the dishwasher.

Make sure to run it on a empty cycle it run for a few minutes the stop the machine and let it sit and then restart the machine.

Heating Element not coming on

Check the heater wiring with a voltmeter. Should be around 208v to 240v. If ok then turn off power and remove one heater wire and check heater with ohmeter for continuity. Replace if no continuity.

Moyer diebel 401 ht not reaching temperature ????

could be a number of problems. Checking with an ohm meter would determine the problem. Could be the booster high limit thermostat, a burnt wire, booster thermostat, or a heater element.
