DVD stuck in player

I have a Mintek HDTV with builtin DVD player. There's a disk stuck in the drive. Help!

I have the exact same problem. Only thing that works is on/off button. All other options no not respond. DVD stuck in disk drive. Mintek seems to be out of business. I called the support site and they wanted $129.00 just to look at it and then charges for the parts. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

We also have a DVD stuck in the player. Happened practically when the TV was brand new! What can we do?

If you purchased it at Costco, I would recommend contacting their Costco Concierge service. They facilitate repair requests. They told me that the TV was not repairable and gave me a full refund after I owed the TV for 1 1/2 years

Another Mintek Question...

To my knowledge this is not an issue that can be fixed completely without obtaining a new motherboard/DVD player and replacing them altogether. Another member, Ori, posted that it might be possible to trace the handshake signal the built in DVD player uses to communicate with the TV's motherboard. The correct signal would "unfreeze" the motherboard allowing for a fully functional TV. Unfortunately I haven't the time or skill to do that.

As far as the availability of replacements, I have seen the whole sets go on ebay quite frequently, but they are usually ones that have this same problem. Apparently Mintek went bankrupt some time ago per what little information I was able to find out about them, so that cuts any hope of a new replacement as well.

DVD does not play just spins and keeps showing loading.

Check to see if the disk is dirty, has fingerprints or is scratched. This has happened to me in the past and if dirty, cleaning it will correct the problem.

Mintek lcd w/dvd player

see if the disk tray comes with a rubber belt. if it does then figure it out how to remove and replace it! if it comes with gears then it probably needs maintenance like greasing some part of it causing toomuch friction!.
replace the rubber belt if any! rubber belts often loosen especially with much heat build-up

Ii own a minteck lcd dvd combo

I have a Mintek lcd/dvd combo which when turned on , comes on with picture and sound but the picture goes off in about one second. I removed the back and can see that the back lighting is going off. I measured some voltages at a terminal strip that i believe provider the back lighting for the set. The results seemed to be normal to me. Can you suggest where I should look further.
