Question about Dell 926 All-In-One InkJet Printer

My scanner won't scan documents to my laptop...

    I downloaded the drivers but can't open them up...It ask me to save it in a program and I picked internet explorer...but after that I can't re-install....

    Hi...it doesn't let me get to this part:




    1. When the download completes, click Allow or Run.

    2. On the Printers: window, click Continue.

    3. In the Select the folder where you want to unzip the files to window, click OK.

    4. If a message appears asking to overwrite the folder, click Yes to All. If a message appears asking to create a folder, click Yes.

    5. In the All files were successfully unzipped window, click OK.

    6. Follow the prompts that appear to install the driver.

    7. If prompted to restart your system, click OK.

    I have the zip folder on my desktop but when I go to open it it asks me what program do I want to use to open it....I chose zip and I end up where I started...what program do I open this zip under?



    I'm lost....

    1. I extract folder from winzip...to my desktop

    2. I double click on folder to open

    3. it asks me what program do I want to open folder with

    4. I hit internet explorer

    5. it tells me choices "find"..."save"...."cancel"

    6. I hit find

    7. it goes to this:

    Windows does not recognize this MIME type.

    8. if you hit "save" it says I already have this folder saved....



    so now what do I do?????

Using your program that you use for Word Processing (Microsoft Word, Corel Word Perfect, Open Office), Select "INSERT". From there you need to find "SCAN". You may be asked to select "TWAIN Device". This is your scanner. Assuming you've correctly installed the scanner drivers on your laptop, you will be able to select your 926 All in One as the default scan device. Once the device is selected, conduct the scan from your laptop, not the scanner. You will get an option to either Preview or Select Scanned image. Once the image is scanned (even if it's a document, it's considered an image and the software on your laptop converts the words into a document) you will be able to save the image.

Ok im going to talk you through the uninstallation of your printer completely. and then we will re-install it from scratch.

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Disconnect the USB cable from the back of your Dell printer, click the Start button, point to All Programs, point to Dell Printers and then point to the listing of your Dell printer and then click the Uninstall Dell Printer icon.
  3. When the Dell Printer Uninstall confirmation window appears, click Yes. This process may take several minutes to complete. Do not attempt to power off the computer at this time.
  4. When the Dell Printer Uninstallation window appears, click to select the Yes, I want to restart my computer right now (recommended) option, then click OK. (The system automatically shuts down and restarts.)

    After the system restarts, the printer uninstallation process is complete.
N.B. Do not reconnect the USB cable to the printer until after you have downloaded and reinstalled the printer's drivers.

To download the 926 All-In-One printer driver from support.dell.com, perform the following steps:
  1. Browse to the 926 Download Page.

  2. Select the desired Operating System from the drop-down boxes
  3. Click Download to the right of Dell - Driver.
  4. Click the Run button.
  5. Make sure the box next to Close this dialog box when download completes is unchecked.
  6. When the download completes, click Allow or Run.
  7. On the Printers: window, click Continue.
  8. In the Select the folder where you want to unzip the files to window, click OK.
  9. If a message appears asking to overwrite the folder, click Yes to All. If a message appears asking to create a folder, click Yes.
  10. In the All files were successfully unzipped window, click OK.
  11. Follow the prompts that appear to install the driver.
  12. If prompted to restart your system, click OK.

    When using the Microsoft zip extractor ensure to make a note of where your extracting it to it usually extracts to a folder of the same name next to the original zip file then inside that folder double click the setup file which will be a .exe. If your still having trouble I can show you how to download and use winzip.

    Good Morning,
    Ok change of plan, it seems your having trouble downloading the correct file so lets try from a different source.
    click this link http://driverscollection.com/?file_cid=2...
    Enter code from image and press download file button.
    it should download a file called R135416.exe
    once the download is complete double click this .exe file and it should begin to unzip the files to a destination which is by default C:\drivers\printer\926.

    N>B> if it does not begin to unzip and it asks you to choose a program to run this file then we need to download and install winzip first.
    goto http://www.winzip.com/downse.htm and click the download button
    then double click the downloaded file wzipse40.exe
    click setup
    click OK
    click Yes
    click Done
    Now go back to the R135416.exe file and double click again, it should now unzip using Winzip Self Extractor.

    The files extracted will be in C:\drivers\printer\926.
    ensure your printer is plugged in
    go to this destination and double click the setup.exe file follow the installation steps to install the printer drivers.

I wanted to check the OS you are using on your computer as that information would have really helped.

My recommendation to you would be to load a fresh set of drivers, as that always resolves the compatibilty issues.

My Canon P-150 keeps giving me a "double feed" error and won't scan.


Uninstall all drivers and scanning software. Switch off the comp and Scanner, restart the scanner first and then the computer. Then reinstall software again

Usually you need to tell the scanner where to save or what program to open the scan with. The settings should be in the scanner software that you install with the scanner.

How do you scan a document on the rx425


I hope you have installed the MFD on your PC/laptop. If yes then do the following: Start the word processor (MS Word or whatever you use). Start the document and when there is need for the scanned document, insert the document in the scanner and go to File->Import. here you will get a choice of using the scanner. Do that. Alternatively, start the SW that got installed with the scanner. there you will find an option for Start Scanning..

Scanner doesn't scan or transmit document to pc


My printer does the same. And it's my third Canon printer and ever time when I try to scan a picture or etc. it just ends up saying that the printer can't communicate or that it's shut off. :(

PLEASE READ **CAREFULLY


Do you want to scan in a document or a picture?

If it is a picture, go to your photo program. Under FILE choose IMPORT then SCAN or TWAIN or your actual scanner (if it shows there.) Have your photo in the scanner ready to go and click on the above. This will scan the picture into your program and you can do any adjustments or cropping needed and "save as" where you want in your files.

A document can be a little more tricky because sometimes your existing document program( Word or whatever doesnt match the document format. However, on many scanners you can choose which program you want to open the document. If your document program will not open it, you can choose" word pad" and once it is there you can save it as an rft document then try opening again in your document proggy. There are many workarounds here to convert documents that didn't come from your program, but with a little patience it can be accomplished.

**Now that I have given you this information, I'll ask you. Do you have the scanner driver installed on your PC? If you do not you won;t be abl;e to scan anything onto your PC, however, you can go to the manufacturers site, click on support or downloads and download the correct driver for your scanner and operating system to your desktop. Be sure to turn off all running programs while you download and install. Once it is on your desktop it will be an exe file. Just click on it to install. Your scanner will then work with your PC and you can scan whatever you want using your programs to do it-picture or document. Good Luck to You.
