Question about Mitsubishi WD-52725 52". Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

WD052725 Still have the blue screen and it is getting worse. Now it has white lines in the middle. It sounds like I am going to have to call a repair technician for the DM Module?

Same as derrick 123...I'm beginning to think there is a major power supply problem or other light engine issue...the lamp is still illuminated, and audio is present...green light is normal, but with all the symptoms derrick123 described. I am having severe problems even finding someone who can help with diagnosis by telephone.

It's a problem with your TV panel or possibly main board, it might get worse over time. If it's new, return it, if it's used then there isn't much you can do. A new TV would probably be cheaper than repairing it

Blue line down middle of screen and every time we hit exit it takes us back to main home screen.

if the blue line is always there, than your screen is damaged and will need to be replaced... just time before it'll get worse.

Sounds like your light engine is going bad. I would have it verified by a service tech.

Verticle line down the middle of lcd monitor.

This is a common problem with LCD screens. It is pixel line damage and the screen is permanently damaged and is not repairable. It will probably get worse. The only answer is to replace it

White screen with red and blue lines

Try removing the battery for a few seconds and see if that clears up the issue.

If it does, be aware that it's most likely a temporary fix. You'll want to go through the phone and clear out some of the memory (saved text message, call log, and even pictures if there are a lot of them). You might want to consider stopping in at your carrier's local store and getting the software flashed as well.

It sounds to me like you're describing the re-trace of the unit. It is repairable, and more so the sooner you get it to the repair facility.

There are individual drivers for each line of plasma cells in the display (horz. & vert.), but they usually are an integral part of the display module that can only be repaired by the manufacturer. A new 42" HD-ready set with more features can be bought for 50-75% of what was likely paid for this one. The cheapest thing to do is learn to live with it. (That's what I'd do until the set got worse or the prices got even lower.)
