If you have a VALID and LEGAL Windows XP Home retail installation disc but have lost the packaging that contains the product key. You can do the following to solve your problem.

  1. Install XP Home from your install disc.
  2. When asked to enter a product key leave blank and click continue.
  3. Click OK in the dialog box that says you'll have to activate within 30 days.
  4. Once installation is finished download Magic Jelly Bean Keyfinder.
  5. Use this software to find out the Product key that is associated with the CD you used to install.
  6. Enter the found product key and activate Windows.

Note: If your using an OEM XP installation disc this may not work and you should use the product key that is located on the COA sticker somewhere on your computer.
Hope this helps, good luck. Please leave feedback if you found this to be helpful.

Just do following!!

1) Insert Windows XP cd into a working computer.
2) Exit the Autorun introduction.
3) Open “My Computer”
4) Right Click on the Windows XP cd-rom drive and select explore.
5) Open the USWXP32P_ZX folder. (It may be as a hidden folder. If you cannot locate the folder, you may also search for unattend.txt and mark “Search Hidden Files”.)
6) Open the sysprep folder.
7) Open unattend.txt

Your CD’s product key is contained within the unattend.txt file.

The only thing you can really do is purchase a new Product key from Microsoft. I am sure that if you search the internet you could find a product key, but given that it is illegal I wouldn't suggest it.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!
